Emporio Armani watches do not all use the same crown positions or date-setting procedure. Find your watch’s model number and follow its matching manual before adjusting it; guessing can put the crown in the wrong position or conflict with the movement’s calendar instructions.
Identify your watch before setting it
Look for the model number on the case, paperwork, or other documentation supplied with the watch, then use it to find the matching manual. The available Emporio Armani Orologi guides cover multiple movements, so the brand name alone is not enough to identify the right procedure. Check the crown before pulling it out
Some models have a screw-down crown. If yours does, unscrew it before trying to pull it out. If the crown resists, stop rather than forcing it; the correct procedure depends on the model.

Once you have identified the model, use its manual to confirm the crown positions, what each position controls, and the direction in which to turn the crown. The procedures differ across the manuals:

- Basic three-hand movement: In the three-hand/open-dial instructions in the Ditur-hosted manual, pull the crown to position 2 and turn it to set the hour and minute hands.
- Chronograph movement: The Horlogeboetiek-hosted manual describes position 2 for setting the date and position 3 for setting the time.
- Other calendar designs: Some instructions use a separate date position or a special calendar control. Do not assume that the first crown position always changes the date.
These are examples, not interchangeable steps. Use them only if your model’s manual identifies the same movement and procedure.
Follow the manual’s date-change warning
Calendar precautions vary too. The chronograph instructions in the Horlogeboetiek-hosted manual warn that if the date is being set during the date-changing phase from 9 p.m. to midnight, it should be set to the following day. The Ditur-hosted manual also includes a warning for automatic-calendar models against adjusting the day or date, or moving the hands backward, during the calendar-change period. Because the warnings are movement-specific, do not apply one manual’s time window to every Emporio Armani watch; follow the warning in the manual for your model.

What to do if the procedure is unclear
- If you cannot identify the model or match it to a manual, do not guess at the crown positions.
- If the crown will not pull out easily, stop and check whether it is a screw-down crown; do not force it.
- If the manual does not make the date control or calendar warning clear, ask a watch service professional to identify the movement and set it safely.
Ordinary crown-based setting does not establish a need for an extra product. One manual refers to a pointed but not sharp tool for a particular hidden date pusher, but that is model-specific and is not a reason to use a generic tool on an unidentified watch.
