Measure the wrist you will wear the watch on, choose whether you want a loose, exact, or tight fit, and have the bracelet adjusted for the specific Roadster reference. Cartier describes link changes as an expert service; its published guidance does not provide a Roadster-specific DIY link-removal procedure.
How to measure your wrist for a Cartier Roadster
- Measure the wrist directly. Use Cartier’s printable bracelet sizer or wrap a tape measure or string around the wrist where you wear the watch. Wrist circumference is not the same as bracelet length, so do not use your current bracelet as a substitute for measuring your wrist. Cartier notes that left and right wrists can differ slightly. - Measure at the thickest point. Cartier recommends measuring the thickest part of the wrist, usually at the wrist joint. Keep the tape or string comfortably against the skin rather than pulling it tight.
- Print and calibrate the sizer if you use it. Print Cartier’s sizer at 100% on A4 paper, then check the card rectangle against a real card before using the scale. If the rectangle does not match, the printout is not calibrated and its reading may be inaccurate. Cartier’s bracelet size guide
- Choose your fit preference. Cartier’s bracelet guide recommends adding 1 cm for a loose fit. Its watch sizing guidance also asks customers to specify loose, exact, or tight fit and explains that the adjustment depends on the model. How to adjust the Roadster bracelet

Why the exact Roadster reference matters
Roadster models are not all configured alike. Cartier lists large and medium steel watches with metal bracelets, as well as strap combinations. For example, large reference CRWSRD0014 is listed with a metal bracelet and rubber strap, while medium reference CRWSRD0019 is listed with a metal bracelet and leather strap.
