If your Citizen Promaster WaveTracker JV3000 shows the wrong time or tide information, first identify which display is wrong: the analog hands, the CAL time and date, the separate WTM world-time display, or the TIDE graph. Each uses a different setting on Caliber U812. Confirm “U812” on the caseback before following the U812 instruction manual.
Confirm the watch and the display with the problem

The U812 has separate modes for different functions. CAL handles time and calendar, WTM displays world time, TIDE shows tide information, and SET contains configuration options. Note exactly what is wrong before changing settings; a tide-location error will not be fixed by adjusting the local time.
- Analog hands show the wrong local time: check CAL and HOME TIME.
- LCD shows the wrong world time: check WTM and its selected city or time zone.
- Tide graph is for the wrong place: change the location in TIDE mode.
- Hands disagree with the LCD: inspect HAND POSITION in SET.
- Several functions behave erratically or a low-charge indication appears: check the power reserve and charging guidance.
Why is my WaveTracker showing the wrong time?
Check CAL and HOME TIME for local time
For a wrong local time or date, use the manual’s “Adjusting the time and calendar” procedure in CAL mode. The instructions use buttons [A], [B], and [C], and set the seconds to 00 during the procedure. Follow the sequence in the manual rather than guessing button presses.

Check HOME TIME as well as the displayed time. The manual lists UTC as the initial HOME TIME setting, so make sure the home time zone and any applicable summer-time setting match your location. WTM is a separate world-time display; changing or reading WTM does not by itself correct the local CAL time.
Check WTM only if the world-time display is wrong
If CAL is correct but the world-time display is not, check the selected city or time zone in WTM. Keep the distinction clear: CAL is the time/calendar setting to check for local time, while WTM is for a separate world-time location.

How do I change the tide location?
The tide graph has its own selected location. In TIDE mode, hold the middle-right [B] button for at least two seconds to begin location selection. Use the manual’s sequence to choose a continent, country or region, and place, confirming each selection with [B] and making the summer-time or standard-time choice as prompted. Use [A] and [C] to move through choices.

- Hold middle-right [B] for at least two seconds.
- Select the continent with [A] or [C], then confirm with [B].
- Select the country or region and then the place, confirming each with [B].
- Choose summer time or standard time as prompted.
If the wrong place was selected, repeat from the continent-selection step. The SET menu also includes a TIDE GRAPH item, but use the manual’s location procedure to select the tide place.

Check whether the exact port is available
The watch offers preconfigured tide locations rather than an exact custom-station entry through this procedure. Citizen Watch Global says its Wave Tracker feature covers 203 locations in 88 countries, with tide levels shown in one-hour increments and high- and low-tide times, moon phase, sunrise, and sunset information. If your harbor does not appear in the manual’s location table, you cannot select it as an exact custom station using the described setting sequence.
Check charge before resetting settings
The JV3000-13E is an Eco-Drive watch powered by light. If a low-charge indication appears, or the watch behaves erratically, check the power reserve and follow the U812 manual’s charging guidance before treating the problem as a setting fault. Do not start with routine battery replacement: charging is the documented first check for this light-powered model.

What if the analog hands and LCD disagree?
If the LCD time is correct but the analog hands do not match, inspect HAND POSITION in SET. Compare the hands with the reference positions shown in the manual; use TO CORRECT if the positions need adjustment. A hand-position mismatch is different from an incorrect time-zone setting: correct the reference position rather than changing a correct CAL time.
When should I use all reset or contact service?
All reset is a later recovery step, not the first response to a wrong tide location, time zone, or world-time selection. The manual says that after all reset you must correct the hand reference positions and set the time and calendar again. Use the manual’s all-reset procedure only when appropriate, then complete those required follow-up settings.
