Huawei announced the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Series in Barcelona on September 19, 2024. The launch confirmed standard GT 5 models in 41 mm and 46 mm sizes and GT 5 Pro models in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes; the Pro is positioned for golf, free diving and trail running, while both models offer Huawei-claimed battery life of up to 14 days in the larger size.
Huawei’s battery figures and descriptions of its TruSense health tracking and Sunflower positioning are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Prices and availability vary by market, so check a local retailer for current stock and pricing.
What the pre-launch certification leak revealed
The July 2024 report connected model numbers VLI-B19 and VLI-B29 with the expected GT 5 and GT 5 Pro. It cited certification-related records from IMDA, 3C, SDPPI and TÜV-related databases.
Those filings were early signs of a new GT-series generation, not an official announcement or complete specification sheet. The original report mentioned Bluetooth, activity sensors, IP68 protection and charging of up to 18 W; Huawei’s launch and product specifications should be used for the confirmed product details instead.

In retrospect, the records pointed to forthcoming GT-series watches, but they did not establish the final retail specifications. Huawei lists 5 ATM and IP69K for the GT 5 and GT 5 Pro. Its 5 ATM explanation refers to static pressure equivalent to 50 metres for 10 minutes; it does not mean the watch is suitable for use at 50 metres depth. Huawei also says water resistance can deteriorate with wear.
Huawei officially launches the GT 5 Series
Huawei announced the series at its Innovative Product Launch in Barcelona on September 19, 2024. Local preorder and sale dates differed by market. Huawei’s launch materials position the Pro for free diving. Do not infer a safe diving depth from its 5 ATM or IP69K ratings. Check the model-specific instructions and regional support information, and do not rely on a smartwatch as a substitute for appropriate training, supervision or professional diving equipment.
If these materials or features fit your needs, compare the exact 42 mm or 46 mm Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro configuration and verify regional availability.

Buying and ownership checks

Huawei says the 5 ATM rating concerns static water pressure equivalent to 50 metres for 10 minutes; it is not a recommendation to use the watch at that depth. Water resistance can deteriorate through daily wear. Huawei also says composite vegan-leather, composite woven, titanium and ceramic straps are not designed for water activities or sweat; use an appropriate alternative strap for those conditions.
For replacement straps, verify compatibility with the exact case size and connector. Third-party strap fit is not established by the cited specifications.
