What is the ID Genève Circular S Sun Dial?
It is a yellow-dial configuration of ID Genève’s Circular S, described by Xavier Markl for Monochrome Watches on 7 August 2023. The dial’s sunbeam brushing and bright color set it apart visually, while the reported 41 mm case and conventional three-hand-plus-date layout give it the proportions and functions of a modern automatic watch.
The case has an integrated-link attachment rather than traditional lugs, according to the 2023 report. That detail matters when choosing a replacement strap: do not assume a standard strap will fit.

What “highly sustainable” means here
The circularity case rests on the watch’s materials and the reuse of an existing movement. Monochrome’s 2023 report describes a case made from recycled 4441 stainless steel, a refurbished automatic movement, straps made from green waste, cork lining, and compostable seaweed-based packaging. These are reported brand measures; the reviewed material does not provide an independent audit of the complete watch’s environmental footprint.
The same article attributes a claim to ID Watch, supported by Quantis, that its recycled steel has “10 times less carbon footprint than standard steel.” This is a claim about the steel material, not a quantified reduction for the watch as a whole. No whole-product lifecycle result should be inferred from it.

For straps, the article links a grape-waste concept to Italian start-up Vegea and says straps made with Biophilica contain no chemical binders or plastics; it also describes cork as the lining material. Those details, too, are claims as reported in the article rather than independently verified lifecycle findings.

Monochrome reported CHF 4,380 as the price when the Circular S Sun Dial was introduced in 2023, with purchase through ID Watch or retailers. That dated figure should not be treated as a current quote. The brand’s current website lists a Circular S collection and a shop-all-watches route, but the reviewed pages do not confirm that the yellow Sun Dial configuration is in stock.
