Ikepod dates its launch to 2022; Japanese distributor Josawa later presented its October 2024 Japan-market release as a new chapter for the brand’s 30th anniversary. Those are separate milestones, not evidence of a worldwide debut in 2024.
What is the Ikepod Horopod?
The Horopod is a three-hand watch in Ikepod’s collection. The brand’s history describes it as a nod to the Ikepod Horizon and names Adrian Buchmann as its designer. Ikepod says the company was founded in Switzerland in 1994 by designer Marc Newson and entrepreneur Oliver Ike, with an approach that treats the watch as a design object. These are the company’s own descriptions of its history and design intent (Ikepod history).
The Horopod and Horizon are related in Ikepod’s design story, but they are not the same model. The distinction is especially visible in the anniversary edition’s two-hand layout, which Josawa said evokes the Horizon.
When did the Horopod launch?
Ikepod’s official history dates the Horopod’s launch to 2022. In October 2024, Josawa Co., Ltd., identified as Ikepod’s Japanese distributor, announced that domestic Japanese sales would begin later that month. Josawa framed that release around Ikepod’s 30th anniversary and described the watch as a new chapter in the brand’s history (Josawa’s October 2024 Japan release announcement).

The announcements establish two different dates and contexts: the brand’s stated Horopod launch year and a later Japan-market release. They do not explain the two-year gap, so it is more precise to call 2024 the announced Japanese release than the watch’s worldwide debut.
Horopod specifications and price
Ikepod’s collection listings describe Horopod variants such as the HO01 Jodhpur and HO02 Lisboa as automatic Swiss Made titanium watches, sized at 44 mm and powered by ETA 2824 movements. The collection page displayed a price of €3,190 when retrieved; that is a listing-time figure, not a guaranteed current price or a universal price across markets (Ikepod Horopod collection).

Josawa’s Japan launch announcement listed six SKUs. Its specifications and price apply to that announced Japanese release, not necessarily to every Horopod variant or present-day offer.
What is the Horopod 30th Anniversary Edition?
In a separate announcement dated October 25, 2024, Josawa described a Horopod 30th Anniversary Edition limited to 30 pieces worldwide. The announced model code is IPHO02TITL30TH. It uses the HO02 Lisboa dial design, has a two-hand display, and is powered by an ETA 2824 movement. Josawa also listed a titanium case and bracelet, an included rubber strap and certificate, and a Japan-market price of ¥599,500 including tax (Josawa’s anniversary-edition announcement).

The edition’s two hands distinguish it from the three-hand Horopod described in Ikepod’s history. Josawa linked the layout to the Horizon, while identifying the Lisboa dial as the basis for the design. The announcement establishes the edition and its stated limit in 2024, but does not confirm current availability.

The announcements also mention an included rubber strap, but do not establish that replacement straps are sold separately or specify compatibility for generic straps. Confirm fit with the seller or manufacturer before buying a replacement.
