The Rolex calibre 3135 is an automatic, date-equipped mechanical movement with centre seconds and a stop-seconds function. Available technical information describes its dimensions, regulating components and crown positions; Rolex’s published service procedure explains what an authorized overhaul entails. The specifications below are attributed to technical information hosted by ManualsLib, rather than a current Rolex product page.
What the calibre 3135 does
The 3135 combines automatic winding with a date display, central seconds hand and stop-seconds device. The stop-seconds function halts the seconds hand when the crown is pulled to the time-setting position, allowing the wearer to set the time against a reference.
The technical-information copy lists rapid date correction as a feature. Its crown instructions describe hand winding with the crown unscrewed, date correction in the first pulled position and time setting in the second. It does not specify a safe time window for quick-setting the date, so no such guidance should be inferred from those instructions.

Regulating and shock-protection components
The same technical information describes an annular balance with two pairs of Microstella timing nuts, a Breguet hairspring, and shock absorbers for the balance. It also lists combined in-settings for the escape wheel and a balance bridge whose height can be adjusted by two nuts. These details describe the documented construction; they are not a service instruction for owners.
How to wind, set the date and set the time
The crown instructions in the technical information describe three operating positions. The crown must be unscrewed before using them; the source does not provide a safe-date-correction time range.
- Hand-wind: With the crown unscrewed and in its normal position, wind by hand.
- Correct the date: Pull the crown to the first position and turn it forward.
- Set the time: Pull the crown to the second position. The stop-seconds device halts the seconds hand while you set the time.
What happens during an authorized Rolex service
Rolex says a watch can be submitted for service through an authorized Rolex jeweler or affiliate. Its published process begins with an assessment and estimate, then proceeds through the work and testing below. Rolex summarizes the inspection stage this way: “The movement is entirely dismantled and all the parts are carefully examined.”
- Assessment and estimate: The watch is assessed and an estimate is prepared before work proceeds.
- Movement inspection and cleaning: The movement is removed, dismantled and inspected; its components are cleaned ultrasonically.
- Reassembly and adjustment: The movement is reassembled and lubricated, then adjusted for precision.
- Case work and water-resistance checks: Case seals are replaced and the case is tested for waterproofness.
- Post-casing tests: Once the movement is back in the case, Rolex conducts another precision test and a Rolex-specific performance test lasting at least 24 hours. The watch is pressure-tested for waterproofness and given a final check.
Rolex World Service says its watchmakers receive brand training and that a full service can include an overhaul of the movement, case and bracelet. Some authorized outlets offer same-day services, but that does not establish a standard turnaround for every watch or service.

Service guarantee and parts availability
Rolex states that a serviced watch comes with an international two-year guarantee covering replacement parts and labour. Rolex World Service says parts and labour are assured for every watch for at least 35 years after it leaves the catalogue. If parts are no longer available after that period, Rolex says its Restoration Atelier can recreate them.
Rolex does not establish a universal service price or duration in these service descriptions. The appropriate estimate and timing depend on the individual watch and the work required.
Finding an authorized service route
To locate an authorized Rolex jeweler or affiliate, use Rolex’s watch care and service information or the Rolex store locator. The published Rolex process documents the authorized route; it does not provide a basis for comparing its policies with those of independent watchmakers.
