Marathon’s US product page listed it at $780 USD on October 7, 2026. Its dimensions and published specifications make the key buying questions straightforward; comfort, accuracy and real-world lume performance remain unverified here.
What the SSGPM is—and what it is not
The SSGPM is the mechanical version of Marathon’s Jeep Willys Officer’s watch. It should not be confused with the 41mm SSGPQ, the quartz sibling identified in the collection’s 2024 launch announcement. Both belong to the same design family, but the SSGPM requires hand-winding and uses a mechanical movement.
Marathon says the design draws on its original field watch and the Jeep Willys, including a black dial and aged-radium-color numerals. That is the brand’s stated design inspiration, not evidence that this modern co-branded model was issued during World War II. Stellantis announced the four-watch Jeep x Marathon collection on May 2, 2024. Stellantis’ launch announcement quoted Marathon president Mitchell Wein: “We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with Jeep.”

Movement and winding: the practical difference
Hand-wound Sellita SW210-1
The SSGPM uses the 18-jewel Sellita SW210-1. Because it is hand-wound, it does not rely on a battery or automatic winding from wrist movement: the wearer winds it manually. The Australian dealer lists a typical 42-hour power reserve and says the movement hacks, meaning the seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled for time setting. Those details are dealer-reported rather than specifications on Marathon’s US listing.
A 42-hour typical reserve means the watch may need winding again after roughly that interval off the wrist, but it is not a promise of an exact run time for every example. The available specifications do not establish the SSGPM’s timekeeping accuracy or service interval.
How it differs from the SSGPQ
The SSGPQ is the quartz counterpart named in Stellantis’ 2024 announcement. That announcement gave an initial launch price of $500 USD for the quartz model and $650 USD for the SSGPM mechanical model. Those are historical launch prices, not verified current prices. Choose between them based on whether you specifically want a hand-wound mechanical watch; the available information does not support a quantified comparison of long-term ownership costs.
Case size, fit and wearing considerations
The case measures 41mm across and 48mm from lug tip to lug tip, with an 11mm thickness and 20mm lug width. Diameter alone does not determine how a watch wears, so the 48mm lug-to-lug measurement is useful alongside the 41mm figure when comparing it with a watch that already fits. There is no wrist-size test here to establish a universal fit recommendation.

The included strap is a three-piece Crazy Horse leather kit. Marathon also lists 20mm straps and spring bars as accessories, but confirm the exact accessory’s fit and compatibility before buying. The watch already includes a strap.
Case, dial, legibility and water resistance
Materials and stated design intent
Marathon specifies a 316L stainless-steel case with a parkerized finish and says the finish is intended to reduce reflectivity and increase corrosion resistance. The crystal is sapphire. These are manufacturer specifications and stated properties; they do not establish how the finish will age or how the watch looks under particular lighting.
The black dial uses Arabic hour numerals, a second scale and MaraGlo on the hands and numerals. The product listing does not specify measured brightness, glow duration or performance after particular exposure conditions, so those aspects cannot be judged from the stated materials alone.
What 5 ATM tells you
The published water-resistance rating is 5 ATM, also rendered as 50m by the regional dealer. That rating is not, by itself, a guarantee that the watch is suitable for every water activity. The supplied specifications do not state activity-specific use guidance.

Price and value context
Marathon’s US product page displayed a price of $780 USD when checked on October 7, 2026. Price and stock can change, and availability or pricing may differ by region. The $650 USD figure in Stellantis’ May 2, 2024 announcement was the original SSGPM launch price, not its current listed price.
The SSGPM’s clearest distinctions are its hand-wound mechanical movement, parkerized 41mm case and Jeep Willys collaboration design. Whether the current asking price is worthwhile depends on how much value a buyer places on those specifics; the available evidence does not establish comparative market value or resale performance.
What this review can and cannot establish
The manufacturer and dealer specifications establish the model’s stated dimensions, materials, movement and features. They do not establish firsthand comfort, strap feel, finishing impressions, accuracy, lume performance in use or long-term reliability. Those are practical questions to assess through an in-person inspection or a clearly documented wear test rather than infer from the specification sheet.
