The Ace Jewelers x ELKA Watch Co. Diversity Series is a limited-edition watch collaboration distinguished by the numeral script on its dial. The original release paired a shared watch platform with four treatments—Western Arabic, Eastern Arabic/Hindi, Chinese, and Hebrew—making the choice of script, rather than a different movement or performance tier, the collection’s defining variation.
Four numeral scripts define the original series
Ace Jewelers and ELKA Watch Co. built the collection around the idea that a familiar watch dial can look and read differently when its hour markers use another writing system. Ace describes the project as the result of a friendship between Alon Ben Joseph of Ace Jewelers and Hakim El Kadiri of ELKA Watch Company (Ace Jewelers). Fratello reports that the pair met at a Hamilton event in 2008 and later developed the idea of putting different scripts on an ELKA X-series watch (Fratello Watches).
- Western Arabic: the familiar 1–12 numerals used on many Western watch dials; Ace identifies this as the X-11.
- Eastern Arabic/Hindi: numerals commonly used in Arabic-language settings, presented as a distinct dial treatment in the series; Ace identifies this as the X-12.
- Chinese: Chinese numerals provide a third script variant; Ace identifies this as the X-13.
- Hebrew: a Hebrew-script version completed the original four-variant concept. Fratello calls that original watch the X-14; the later green Hebrew watch is listed by Ace as the X-16.
The original watches are described by Fratello as having gradient blue sunburst dials and no date window. The green dial on Ace’s current Hebrew X-16 page belongs to a later release, not a reliable description of every Hebrew-series watch.
Shared movement and case specifications
The variants share a common mechanical and case platform in the available product descriptions; their central distinction is the dial script. Ace’s X-11 product page lists an automatic movement, while Fratello identifies the original series’ caliber as the La Joux-Perret G100. Fratello gives the movement’s frequency as 28,800 vibrations per hour, with hacking seconds and a 68-hour power reserve. Ace also lists a 68-hour reserve on its X-11 page.

Ace’s listed measurements and materials are from its X-11 product page; the lug-to-lug dimension and additional construction details come from Fratello’s hands-on coverage of the original series. They are useful complements, but should not be mistaken for a single jointly published specification sheet.
How limited was the production?
Ace and ELKA described the initial production plan as 25 watches per dial version. Fratello reports that seven watches of each variant were first reserved for four-watch sets, leaving 18 of each version for individual sale. The 25-per-version figure describes the original plan, not necessarily the final lifetime total for every script: ELKA’s current collection page says the original Hebrew version sold out and that a green-gradient Hebrew version was offered later (ELKA Watch Co.).

Original Hebrew X-14 versus later green X-16
The Hebrew naming difference reflects distinct release descriptions and should be stated with the generation attached. Fratello’s coverage of the original four-watch series calls the Hebrew model the X-14. Ace’s current Hebrew product listing uses X-16 for a green-dial watch, which ELKA describes as a later green-gradient release following the sell-out of the original Hebrew edition. The available pages do not establish that X-14 and X-16 are interchangeable names for one unchanged watch.

Current stock cannot be inferred from the original limited-production announcement. The original Hebrew edition is described by ELKA as sold out, while a later green Hebrew edition has been listed separately; availability for the other references can change. Check the specific reference on Ace’s or ELKA’s current product pages before buying, and confirm the dial color and production generation, particularly for a Hebrew-script listing.
