The Anoma A1 Optical makes its dial the focal point: 50 engraved triangles, designed by optical artist Adam Fuhrer, catch light at different angles to create an apparent sense of movement. The design sits inside Anoma’s rounded triangular stainless-steel case, pairing a sculptural shape with an Op Art surface.
How the A1 Optical dial creates its visual effect
Rather than relying on a printed pattern, the A1 Optical uses 50 engraved triangles. Monochrome Watches reports that the metal dial surface is sandblasted and hand polished; the differing facets interact with light to make the geometry seem to shift as the viewing angle changes. That is the intended optical effect, not a claim of independent testing.
Fuhrer, an optical artist, designed the dial. Two colors were described for the launch: copper and silver. The available account does not establish any difference in material or performance between them.

The relatively compact reported footprint and 9.45 mm thickness give the watch a distinctive case outline without a conventional round silhouette. The source gives dimensions, but no comparative wear test or wrist-fit data.
Copper or silver: what differed in the first release
The first numbered batch was reported as 300 watches, divided evenly between the two dial colors: 150 copper and 150 silver. Each numbered watch was paired with original numbered artwork by Fuhrer. Monochrome said non-numbered pieces were expected later in 2025; that schedule is historical, not confirmation of current availability.
Launch price and availability
At launch, Monochrome Watches reported a price of GBP 2,200 excluding tax, with orders opening on 7 August 2025 and delivery planned for October 2025. Those dates have passed. No current price, stock status, or delivery schedule is established by that report.

About Anoma
The 2025 introduction describes Anoma as an independent watch brand founded in London by Matteo Violet-Vianello. The A1 Optical retains the brand’s rounded triangular case shape while giving it a new dial treatment: a geometric pattern whose appeal lies in the way its engraved surfaces respond to light.
