What is the Arnold & Son x Chronopassion Double Tourbillon “Landscape”?
It is a unique collaboration between Arnold & Son and Paris-based Chronopassion, rather than a regular-production edition. The “Landscape” name points to the natural pattern of its jasper dial, which Chronopassion describes as landscape-like. Two white-opal subdials sit above and below the center, with a tourbillon at each end of the composition. The listed reference is 1DTAW.Z09A.C1259O. Chronopassion’s product listing identifies it as a unique piece.
How do its two time displays work?
The displays show separate times, rather than a single time supplemented by a conventional 24-hour GMT hand:
- At 12 o’clock: local hours and minutes, indicated with Roman numerals.
- At 6 o’clock: reference hours and minutes, indicated with Arabic numerals.
Chronopassion’s description specifies a crown for each display. Arnold & Son’s Double Tourbillon collection information explains the broader architecture: two distinct rotating regulating organs are driven by independent barrels and operated with two crowns. The collection page says the time displays can be set for time-zone offsets of 15, 30 or 45 minutes from a full hour, useful for locations whose civil time differs from UTC by a half-hour or quarter-hour as well as whole hours. This is a stated capability of the collection architecture, not a separate accuracy claim.

What makes this particular execution distinctive?
The jasper gives the dial its natural, landscape-like pattern, while the opal subdials provide contrasting surfaces and clearly differentiated numeral styles. The layout also makes the independent time displays part of the watch’s visual structure: Roman numerals above for local time, Arabic numerals below for reference time, with a tourbillon at each end. Because this is designated a unique piece, its specific stone pattern and configuration are not a standard production option established by the listing.

Chronopassion’s “Laurent’s opinion” describes it as “a four-handed journey” and calls the jasper “the playground for two tourbillons.” That is the retailer’s promotional characterization, not an independent technical evaluation.
