Their Jurassic Park references sit alongside hand-finished Sơn Mài lacquer dials, recycled steel cases and textured salmon-skin straps. Launch coverage in April 2025 reported a price of €2,075 and 50 numbered watches per edition; those are historical launch details, not confirmed current prices or availability.
Two dinosaur references, one watch design
Awake ties each dial color to a dinosaur’s eyes in the film: orange for T-Rex and green for Raptors. The editions share their case, movement and basic time-only display, but differ in the color and details that make the film references specific.

Fratello’s April 22, 2025 introduction attributes “Spared no expense” to John Hammond, played by Richard Attenborough, and “Life finds a way” to Dr. Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum. How the Sơn Mài dials are made
The dials combine silver-leaf gilding with hand-applied lacquer in the edition’s color, then are sanded smooth. Fratello credits Vietnamese artisans with the craft. Waqt’s April 23, 2025 launch coverage says the application and finishing process takes over 10 hours per dial; that is a reported production detail, not an independently verified audit. (Waqt)

Polished hands and indexes carry a solid layer of Super-LumiNova BGW9. The result pairs a smooth lacquer surface with the dial’s distinct claw-mark motif, rather than relying on a printed dinosaur illustration.
Shared case, movement and specifications
Fratello reports a recycled 316L stainless-steel case measuring 39 mm across, 45.6 mm lug-to-lug and 11.8 mm thick including the crystal (10.9 mm without it). Both editions have sapphire crystals on the front and back, antireflective coating, a screw-in caseback and 5 ATM / 50 m water resistance. The stated water-resistance rating is not a guarantee of suitability for every water activity.

The La Joux-Perret G101 has a tungsten rotor. Fratello and Waqt both report a 28,800-vph frequency and 68-hour power reserve. Its display is time-only: hours, minutes and seconds, with no additional complication described in the launch coverage.
Salmon-skin straps and fit
Both watches are reported with salmon-skin straps made from fish used for food and processed by Ictyos in Lyon, France. Their scaled texture and iridescent finish continue the distinctive surface treatment beyond the dial. Tone-on-tone stitching, calfskin lining and a signed steel buckle complete the strap.

The reported width is 20 mm at the lugs and 16 mm at the buckle. The launch coverage does not establish long-term durability or how the straps wear over time. Anyone considering a replacement should verify the specific strap’s lug connection and end details, not just its width.
Launch price, edition size and availability
Fratello reported a launch price of €2,075, 50 numbered pieces per model and a three-year warranty. Waqt also reported the €2,075 price and 50-piece quantity. These are April 2025 launch terms; the cited coverage does not establish current inventory, present-day pricing or warranty terms offered by a current seller. Check with Awake or an authorized retailer for current details.

Which edition is the better fit?
The technical specification is shared, so the choice is primarily about the visual reference. T-Rex is the orange option with two claw marks and Hammond’s line; Raptors is green, has three claw marks and carries Malcolm’s line. The dial color and engraved phrase are the clearest ways to choose between them.
