The BCHH Celestial Infinity is a two-faced table clock that pairs a pendulum-driven time display with a slowly rotating, diamond-set map of the constellations. Italian master clockmaker Alessandro Rigotto conceived and handcrafted it for BCHH, developing its base movement and astronomical complication in-house, according to Monochrome Watches’ November 3, 2022 feature.
Two displays in one sculptural clock
The Celestial Infinity separates its two functions into adjacent modules. One shows hours and minutes through an exposed mechanical clock movement; the other presents a rotating star disc. The overall design takes inspiration from jet engines, with two asymmetric, leather-covered wooden cones and a wing-shaped base. Glass plates sit at both ends of the time-display module.
Monochrome Watches reports overall dimensions of 68 cm long, 57.5 cm high and 52 cm deep, with a weight of 26 kg. Those figures make it a substantial object for a table or cabinet, so the footprint and the room needed around it are practical considerations as well as design details.
How the mechanical time display works
The feature describes a spring-driven movement with an invar pendulum, a compensation tube and a Graham deadbeat escapement. It reports a rate of 8,180 vibrations per hour and a ten-day power reserve. These are specifications reported by Monochrome Watches, not results from an independent accuracy or reliability test.

Rigotto’s motion work uses epicyclic gearing informed by the Ferguson mechanical paradox. As quoted by Monochrome Watches, he said the arrangement “avoids the need for a 12 to 1 gear train between the hour and minute hand.” The feature presents that as an explanation of the mechanism’s approach; it does not provide a separate interview transcript beyond the article and its embedded video.
How the celestial display works
The smaller astronomical dial is reported to measure 30.8 cm across and to depict the constellations visible in Milan’s night sky. It completes one rotation in 23 hours, 56 minutes and 4 seconds—the duration Monochrome identifies as a sidereal day. This is distinct from a 24-hour solar day: the display’s stated cycle tracks Earth’s rotation relative to the stars.

The rotating disc is set with 455 diamonds, totaling 8.03 carats according to the 2022 feature. The combination makes the celestial module more than a conventional clock face: it gives the object a second, astronomical display whose movement is deliberately slower than the hands marking civil time.
Edition, customization and reported price
Monochrome Watches reported a five-piece limited edition in November 2022 and a listed price of CHF 148,800, with price dependent on selected options. That dated figure should not be read as a current quote or confirmation that a piece remains available.

The feature says buyers could customize the planetarium, leather color, hand color and engraving, and choose case plating in palladium, 24-karat rose gold, 24-karat yellow gold or DLC. - Display preference: the appeal is split between visible pendulum mechanics and a moving constellation disc; it is a large horological sculpture as much as a conventional timekeeper.
- Ownership details: obtain current information from BCHH on availability, configuration, pricing, delivery, warranty and maintenance rather than relying on the 2022 listing.
