Junghans’s product page for that same reference instead names the movement J880.3. The designation is unresolved in the manufacturer’s published sources, so this is not yet a confirmed movement replacement.
What changed in the 2026 listing?
The update worth noting is the catalogue’s movement designation for the green-dial Pilot Chronoscope, reference 27/3492.00. Junghans’s 2026 English catalogue calls its self-winding movement “1883,” while the official product page for 27/3492.00 identifies it as J880.3. Both sources give a reserve of up to 42 hours, but the product page qualifies that figure as applying without the chronoscope function. Neither source explains the difference in calibre names, so it should be treated as a discrepancy rather than proof that Junghans has introduced a new movement. Design background and buying details
Junghans says the Pilot design draws on its aviation history, including aircraft and airship cockpit clocks from the 1930s and a pilot chronograph made for the German Armed Forces in the 1950s. That is the manufacturer’s account of the design heritage. The 2026 catalogue uses the line “Built for the skies. Made for everything else.”
The product page surfaced a price of €2,590 including VAT for reference 27/3492.00, but regional prices, stock and delivery information can change.
