The Biver Automatique Japan Edition is a time-only watch made for the Japanese market, offered in two documented combinations: platinum with a white enamel dial, or 18k rose gold with a black enamel dial. Its restrained display—hours, minutes and seconds—sits alongside painstaking enamel work and Biver’s micro-rotor JCB-003 movement.
What is the Biver Automatique Japan Edition?
It is a market-specific version of Biver’s Automatique, created for Japan. Biver names The Hour Glass as its retail partner in Japan, but that does not establish current stock or availability. In a March 5, 2025 editorial, co-founder and creative director Pierre Biver described the choice of market: “Japan remains a place where true mastery of craftsmanship is deeply respected and cultivated. It is a privilege to create special pieces for these collectors and this market.” (Biver, March 5, 2025)
The watch keeps its indication deliberately simple: hours, minutes and seconds. The two versions differ in case metal, dial color and marker color; their published core dimensions and movement specifications are otherwise alike.

What makes the dials and movement distinctive?
Hard-fired enamel, made slowly
Biver says both dials are made in Geneva by Les Émailleurs de la Cité. Each requires more than 10 hours of enameling and six hours of polishing, according to the brand. The monochrome surfaces and applied gold markers keep the display spare, while the enamel process supplies much of the craft complexity that is not immediately apparent from the watch’s layout. JCB-003 family with micro-rotor winding
Biver describes calibre JCB-003 as developed specifically for the Automatique in partnership with Dubois Depraz. It can be wound by its micro-rotor or by hand, and includes a zero-reset mechanism. Biver also says the movement’s main plate and bridges are made from a special gold alloy it calls PD210. The brand states a 65-hour power reserve for both editions; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

What were the launch prices, and where was it offered?
Fratello Watches reported launch prices on March 11, 2025, of CHF 89,000 for the rose-gold version and CHF 92,000 for the platinum version, excluding local taxes and duties. These are dated launch figures, not verified current quotes. Biver’s rose-gold product page likewise notes that its recommended retail price excludes VAT and other applicable taxes or duties. Biver identifies The Hour Glass as its retail partner in Japan, and Fratello’s launch report described the watches as exclusively available through The Hour Glass Japan.
