Monochrome reported it as a new colorway on 12 June 2024, with launch prices of CHF 1,170 and EUR 1,300. Those are dated launch prices, not confirmed current prices.
What is the brown-and-gold Mido Multifort TV Big Date?
It is a rose-gold PVD version of the Multifort TV Big Date, a model family introduced in 2023. The case retains the family’s compact, rounded-square “TV” profile, measuring 39.2 x 40 mm and 11.5 mm thick, according to Monochrome’s 12 June 2024 release report.
The case is made from stainless steel treated with rose-gold PVD. Its three-part construction combines a vertically brushed bezel with polished bevels. The dial has horizontal brushed grooves and recessed markers; its chocolate-brown gradient is lighter at the center and darker toward the edge. Round markers alternate with trapezoidal markers at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The hands and indices use Super-LumiNova that glows blue-green.
At 12 o’clock, the big date uses two discs, with white numerals against a brown background. Hours, minutes and seconds complete the display.

Strap, fit and wearing considerations
The brown rubber strap has raised central “mallets,” a design detail that echoes the links of the Multifort TV Big Date’s steel bracelet. It closes with a rose-gold PVD-plated pin buckle and uses quick-release pins.

The release report does not state the strap width or confirm compatibility with third-party straps. Quick-release pins make strap changes easier, but they do not establish that a particular replacement will fit; check the lug or attachment dimensions and reference compatibility before buying one. The 39.2 x 40 mm case measurement alone cannot establish how the watch wears on a slimmer wrist, and no wrist-fit assessment is available for this specific reference.
How it fits into the Multifort TV Big Date family
Mido’s first TV-shaped watch appeared in 1973. The Multifort TV Big Date arrived in 2023, coinciding with the family’s 50th anniversary, according to the 2024 release report. A June 2023 Monochrome hands-on also notes that Mido used the TV-shaped design in 1973, 1980 and 2000, and provides context for the original steel model’s 39.2 x 40 mm case, 11.5 mm thickness, Calibre 80, 80-hour reserve and 100 m water resistance.

The brown-and-gold reference’s main distinction is its finish and strap: rose-gold PVD, chocolate-brown dial and brown rubber in place of the steel-and-bracelet presentation of the original model. When comparing it with another Multifort TV Big Date, check the exact reference for its finish, dial, strap or bracelet, movement, water resistance and market-specific price rather than assuming every version has identical availability or pricing.
