Each reference is limited to 888 pieces. Both share a 38 mm case, an automatic R734 movement with an 80-hour power reserve, and a black-and-white dial set with 12 diamond hour markers.
Two colorways, one chessboard-inspired design
Rado announced the pair on 2 September 2024 as its first black-and-white bicolour references in the True Square Open Heart collection. The alternating squares of a chessboard inform the contrast between the cases, bracelets and dials. Rado calls each a separate limited edition of 888 pieces; the number applies to each reference, not to the pair combined. The launch announcement describes the editions and their design.

The white model is listed on Rado’s white reference page, and the black model on its black reference page.
What distinguishes the dial
Both watches have a vertically brushed black-and-white dial with an open-heart aperture that reveals part of the movement. Rhodium-coloured bevels and a black flange frame the display. Twelve diamond hour markers—eight white and four black—add another contrast to the chessboard theme. Rado says each caseback is marked “LIMITED EDITION ONE OUT OF 888.”

The open-heart aperture is on the dial; Rado also specifies a sapphire crystal caseback, giving a view of the movement from the rear. These details are described in Rado’s 2024 announcement.
Shared movement and specifications
Both references use Rado’s automatic calibre R734. Rado states that it has an 80-hour power reserve, a Nivachron hairspring and a five-position test. The brand specifies 5 bar (50 metres) water resistance. That rating is not a claim that these are dive watches.

Rado’s white and black product pages list the diameter, thickness, movement, reserve and water resistance. The 44.2 mm case length is reported by the independent Monochrome Watches technical overview. Measurements can help narrow down wrist-fit expectations, but they do not by themselves establish how either square case and integrated bracelet will fit a particular wrist.
