CIGA announced it in September 2025 with a 46 mm titanium case, sapphire crystal, 5 ATM water-resistance rating and its automatic Swiss-made CD-09 caliber. Its defining appeal is visual invention; its unusual display and substantial case dimensions are the practical trade-offs to weigh.
What makes the Moon Walker different?
The Moon Walker turns time display into a small lunar scene. CIGA says the astronaut moves above a dial modeled on the Moon’s surface, standing in for traditional hands. The company’s product description puts it this way: “A miniature astronaut replaces traditional hands, gliding above the sculpted lunar dial—just as Armstrong once did.” That is CIGA’s description of the design, not an independent assessment of its construction.
CIGA says the dial draws on NASA imagery and conceals Armstrong’s footprint, Apollo 11 coordinates and landing-time details for magnified viewing. The dial is described as micro-engraved. CIGA’s published copy gives conflicting figures for the engraving precision—0.01 mm in one passage and 0.03 mm in another—so neither figure should be treated as settled.
How does the astronaut display tell time?
CIGA calls its display system Asynchronous-Follow. In the company’s explanation, the hour gear travels 30° while the minute ring rotates 390°, with the time read from one reference point. The astronaut-and-lunar-landscape presentation is therefore not a conventional set of hands; CIGA’s own explanation is the basis for describing how the display works.

What the case size and water rating mean for a buyer
At 46 mm across and 17.05 mm thick, this is a large, thick watch by its published dimensions. Fratello, in an article explicitly marked as a partnership post, says the size may seem daunting but suggests that the lugless construction and lightweight titanium could help it sit well. That is Fratello’s assessment, not a hands-on finding here; fit depends on the wearer and wrist.
The published rating is 5 ATM. That figure is a specification, not a basis for recommending a particular water activity: the cited materials do not provide activity-specific guidance.

CIGA’s September 3, 2025 press release announced a September 10 release and a US$1,699 launch price; Fratello also reported US$1,699 as launch pricing. These are historical launch figures, not a universal current price. CIGA storefronts showed differing prices and stock states: the French regional page displayed US$2,069 when reviewed, while a separate storefront search result showed US$1,699 and sold out. Check the official listing for your market for current price and availability.
