Inside is the self-winding Soprod Newton P092, which Formex lists as COSC-certified and Chronofiable-tested. Its published dimensions, clasp adjustment and current sold-out status help put the watch in context beyond its unusual dial.
What is the Dark Matter dial made from?
Formex says the dial is made from solid Muonionalusta iron meteorite treated with dark nickel to bring out its natural Widmanstätten crystalline pattern. The brand describes a thicker, single-component construction: dial feet are soldered directly to the meteorite, rather than fixing a thin meteorite slice to a brass plate. The six-o’clock date aperture is carved and beveled, and Formex says each dial has a naturally unique crystal structure. These are the manufacturer’s construction claims, not an independent materials examination. Formex product specifications.
What movement does it use?
The watch is powered by the Swiss-made, self-winding Soprod Newton P092. Formex lists COSC chronometer certification and Chronofiable testing, along with 23 jewels, a date display and a 44-hour power reserve. COSC certification and Chronofiable testing are distinct credentials; neither should be read as a guarantee of a particular result in every watch or as proof of superiority over another movement. Formex describes the balance at six o’clock beneath a transverse bridge, with shock protection, decorated bridges and a skeleton rotor. Formex’s technical details.
How big is the 41 mm case?
Formex specifies a 41 mm diameter, 11.2 mm height, 46.2 mm lug-to-lug length and 22 mm lug width. Those measurements offer a more useful picture of its footprint than diameter alone, but they do not predict fit on a particular wrist. The case and bezel are zirconium oxide ceramic; the front and display-back crystals are sapphire with internal anti-reflective treatment. Formex rates water resistance at 10 bar (100 m) and gives the case-only weight as 56 g—not the weight of the complete watch on its bracelet. Official specifications.

How do the bracelet and strap adjustments work?
The solid-link ceramic bracelet combines brushed surfaces with polished bevels. Its patented clasp provides 5 mm of tool-free micro-adjustment in four 1.25 mm increments, which can be operated while the watch is on the wrist. Formex also offers rubber, nylon and Italian leather straps with quick-release fitting. Those options use a separate carbon-fiber composite deployant clasp with 7 mm of gradual adjustment; it is not the bracelet’s 5 mm system. Formex product page.
