What is the IWC IW329501?
IW329501 is IWC’s platinum Big Pilot’s Watch 43 Tourbillon Le Petit Prince. IWC’s US product page identifies the model and reference; Monochrome Watches’ 26 May 2025 report supplies the detailed launch-era specifications and describes it as a 150-piece limited edition.
The 43 mm format distinguishes it from larger Big Pilot tourbillon models. The watch focuses on time display and a flying minute tourbillon rather than adding a calendar complication.
Case, dial and display
Monochrome reports a 43 mm diameter and 14.58 mm thickness for the platinum case, with brushed and polished surfaces, a conical crown, sapphire crystal and a see-through sapphire caseback. Its stated water resistance is 100 m.

The sunray-brushed blue dial has rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and propeller-style hands, with luminous material. At 6 o’clock, the flying one-minute tourbillon rotates without an upper bridge, leaving the mechanism visually open from the dial side. Monochrome describes it as comprising 56 parts with a mass of 0.635 g.
Calibre 82905 and the tourbillon
The automatic IWC calibre 82905 uses the brand’s Pellaton winding system and is specified with an 80-hour power reserve. Monochrome lists 25 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and Diamond Shell treatment on the pallet lever and escape wheel. The stated functions are hours, minutes and small seconds over the tourbillon, with stop-seconds.

The rotor depicts the Little Prince standing on asteroid B612, linking the movement decoration to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s story. WatchProSite’s reproduction of IWC’s announcement also identifies calibre 82905, Pellaton winding and the 80-hour reserve.
Le Petit Prince connection and edition
Monochrome reports that the first Big Pilot’s Watch associated with Le Petit Prince appeared in 2013. A reproduced IWC announcement says the company has worked with Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s heirs and the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation since 2006. Those statements describe the reported collection context; the watch’s clearest story-specific detail is the Prince-and-B612 rotor.

The edition is reported as 150 pieces. It is fitted with a brown calfskin strap and platinum folding clasp, according to Monochrome’s 2025 specification report.

Prices depend on the source, date and market. Monochrome’s 26 May 2025 launch report gave CHF 85,000 and EUR 95,200. IWC’s US product page currently displays US$99,400, with VAT excluded. These are not like-for-like price comparisons: they are in different currencies and markets, and the US page explicitly excludes VAT. IWC provides an enquiry route, but the page does not establish stock at any particular retailer.

How it differs from the larger ceramic Le Petit Prince model
The reproduced IWC announcement describes a larger paired ceramic model that adds a perpetual calendar. IW329501 is the platinum 43 mm option with a flying minute tourbillon and time display; it should not be treated as the same specification in a different case material. A useful comparison should account for case size and material, complications, calibre and reserve, edition size, and the date and market attached to each price.
