What is the Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Vantablack?
Reference 1200-0412 is the red-gold version of H. Moser & Cie.’s Centre Seconds Concept Vantablack. The “Concept” designation matters: it is distinct from the older red-gold Original reference 1200-0411, as well as from the current steel Concept reference 1200-1239. Those watches share Vantablack and Centre Seconds naming, but they are not the same reference or generation.
H. Moser & Cie. describes the dial as millions of carbon nanotubes that capture 99.965% of light photons, creating the impression of a black void. That percentage is the manufacturer’s stated figure; it is not an independently verified measurement in the available sources. The dial’s near-light-absorbing appearance is paired with a minimal display, keeping attention on the black surface and the central seconds hand.

What the HMC 200 movement does
The automatic HMC 200 provides the watch’s hours, minutes and central seconds, with a stated 72-hour power reserve. H. Moser & Cie. summarizes its purpose on the official product page: “The HMC 200 movement places emphasis on the basics of time – the hours, minutes and seconds.” The brand’s product information for reference 1200-0412 does not specify a double hairspring; that detail is described for the steel Concept reference 1200-1239 instead.
How it differs from the steel Concept and older Original models
The closest current comparison is steel reference 1200-1239. It shares the 40 mm case size, HMC 200 automatic movement, 72-hour reserve and 3 ATM water resistance, but uses an alligator strap and has a purple seconds hand. The manufacturer describes its movement variant as having a double hairspring.

Hodinkee reports that the Centre Seconds Vantablack was introduced at Geneva Watch Days 2023 alongside a Vantablack tourbillon. The archived manufacturer pages identify 1200-0411 and 1200-1235 as older Original references marked sold out, while the current Concept listings use references 1200-0412 and 1200-1239.
