The 2025 Hublot Classic Fusion Essential Taupe pares back the visual busyness without hiding its Hublot identity: a tone-on-tone taupe dial and straightforward three-hand-and-date display sit inside a titanium case with the collection’s visible H-shaped bezel screws. It comes in 42 mm and 45 mm sizes. The key choice is wrist fit, not a different dial or complication set; the two sizes do use different movements and differ slightly in thickness.
Why the Essential Taupe feels more restrained
The Classic Fusion Essential Taupe keeps several signature design cues—the titanium case, bezel screws and mixed-material strap—but the taupe sunray dial and matching strap soften their contrast. The dial has three central hands and a date display, rather than a busier complication layout. The result is comparatively simple in appearance, not a departure from the recognizable Classic Fusion design.
Hublot describes the case and bezel as polished and satin-finished titanium. Monochrome Watches identifies the material as grade 5 titanium. An anti-reflective-treated sapphire crystal covers the dial. The specification links below are to Hublot’s official 42 mm listing and the 2025 coverage from Time and Watches and Monochrome Watches.
42 mm or 45 mm: what changes?
Both versions share the taupe design, titanium construction and approximately 48-hour power reserve. The 45 mm model is 0.55 mm thicker, and it uses a different caliber. Diameter alone does not determine how a watch wears: wrist shape, lug span and personal preference matter, and the cited reports do not provide lug-to-lug measurements.

Monochrome’s reviewer Robin Nooy handled the 45 mm watch and said the 42 mm would suit them better. That is one reviewer’s preference, not a universal sizing rule. If you are choosing between them, try each on if possible and consider how much dial presence you want as well as how the case sits across your wrist.
Movement, water resistance and everyday wear
The 42 mm model uses Hublot caliber HUB1110; the 45 mm uses HUB1112. Monochrome describes both as based on the Sellita SW300, with differently sized date modules. Hublot lists approximately 48 hours of power reserve for the 42 mm version, and 2025 coverage reports the same reserve for both sizes.

- Polished titanium case with brushed finished top & bottom center links between the lugs.
- Titanium bezel with a brushed finished top & polished finished beveled edge, secured with 6 polished "H" style titanium screws.
- Matte black dial.
Hublot rates the 42 mm model at 50 m / 5 ATM water resistance. That rating is a specification, not a recommendation for every kind of water activity; follow Hublot’s care guidance and have the watch’s seals checked as appropriate. The official product information for the 45 mm’s rating is not separately linked in the sources cited here.
Strap and clasp
The 42 mm specification lists a taupe rubber-and-fabric strap with a stainless-steel deployant buckle. The fabric surface adds texture to the subdued color scheme, while the rubber component brings a more casual, sport-oriented element than an all-leather strap. Exact replacement-strap fit and standalone availability are not established in the cited information, so confirm compatibility with Hublot before buying a substitute.
Price and availability depend on date and market
Hublot’s Netherlands product page listed the 42 mm reference at €9,100 including VAT when accessed on 8 October 2026. That is a current regional listing, not a worldwide price. The listing’s delivery estimates are subject to availability. Hublot also describes a 5+5 warranty framework for purchases from 1 January 2026: the additional five years depend on Hublotista enrollment and applicable conditions. Check the local Hublot site for the terms that apply to your purchase.
For launch context, Time and Watches reported prices of CHF 7,700, €8,800 and US$8,900 in July 2025; Monochrome reported the same launch prices in August 2025 for either size. Those dated launch figures should not be treated as current prices. The cited sources do not explain the difference between the launch amounts and the later Netherlands listing.
