Laco’s black DLC Scorpion is a four-color range offered in 39 mm and 42 mm case sizes. The models share a black-coated stainless-steel case and black dial; Amazonas, Mojave, Atlantik, and Himalaya distinguish themselves with green, orange, blue, and white luminous accents. The launch specifications include 300 m water resistance, but the available sources do not establish independent certification to a named dive-watch standard.
What the black DLC Scorpion range includes
Laco’s current black sports-watches collection describes the cases as stainless steel with a black Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, in 39 mm and 42 mm diameters. The dial is black with white Arabic numerals, while the unidirectional bezel’s ceramic insert, indexes, and minute hand use the variant’s accent color and Super-LumiNova.
Laco describes its DLC finish as “an extremely hard-wearing, scratch-resistant and corrosion-resistant surface.” That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent durability measurement.
How the four colorways differ

Case sizes and launch specifications
In its 21 October 2024 introduction, Monochrome Watches reported 316L stainless-steel cases measuring 13 mm high for the 39 mm version and 13.4 mm for the 42 mm. It also listed a unidirectional bezel with a black ceramic insert, double-domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screw-down crown with guards, screw-down caseback, and 300 m water resistance. These are reported specifications, not results of independent testing, and the rating alone does not establish certification to a named dive-watch standard.
The same launch article identifies the automatic Laco 200 movement as based on the Sellita SW200-1 in elaboré grade. It reports 26 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and a 38-hour power reserve.

Choosing between 39 mm and 42 mm
The smaller case is 39 mm across and 13 mm high; the larger is 42 mm across and 13.4 mm high, according to the October 2024 launch coverage. Those figures make the 39 mm option the more compact of the two on paper, but they do not establish how either watch will fit a particular wrist.
Laco’s separate Scorpion-family Atlantik 42 listing gives a 20 mm lug width and 50.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement. That listing is not for a black DLC model, so those measurements should not be assumed to apply to every black DLC reference. There is no independent fit test for this range in the cited coverage; try the chosen size on where possible, especially if wrist coverage or strap overhang is a deciding factor.

Strap, bracelet, and launch prices
Monochrome’s October 2024 report described three launch configurations: a rubber strap matching the variant’s accent, a black rubber strap, or a black DLC-coated steel bracelet. Its launch prices were €990 for rubber-strap versions and €1,090 for the bracelet version. Those are historical launch figures, not current price guidance; current per-reference pricing, stock, and delivery availability are not established here.
When comparing configurations, decide whether you prefer the color-matched strap, a more understated black strap, or the bracelet, then check that the selected strap or bracelet is offered for the exact reference and size. No replacement-part compatibility is established by the launch report.

Keep the special Edition 96 separate
Laco’s Edition 96 is a separate limited edition based on the Scorpion family, not another standard black DLC colorway. Laco states that 96 pieces were made and that the edition sold out; its page reports a 42 mm case and 30 ATM water-resistance rating. Those Edition 96 details should not be transferred to the standard black DLC references.
