Datoday is a distinct subcollection in Mido’s Commander line. Mido says the Commander dates to 1959; that is the brand’s own description of the collection’s history. Which four variants are available?
The catalog lists four dial and finish combinations. The green model uses rose-gold PVD-coated steel; it is not described as solid gold.

The launch figures come from Monochrome Watches’ 10 March 2026 introduction. Swiss catalog prices are specific to that market and access date; they should not be treated as universal current prices. The official catalog lists the lineup, but stock and prices can vary by reference and region.
How does the 80-hour reserve affect everyday use?
Mido specifies up to 80 hours of power reserve for the automatic movement. In practical terms, that stated reserve can let the watch keep running through a break from wearing it of roughly three days, depending on how fully wound it is and the conditions of use. It is a manufacturer specification, not an independently measured result. Mido also identifies a Nivachron balance spring on the official model pages.

Monochrome reports that Calibre 80 has 25 jewels, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), and is an evolution of ETA 2824. Those movement details are reported by that publication rather than confirmed in the official model-page content cited above. Monochrome’s movement and launch coverage
Is 40 mm a good fit for a smaller wrist?
A 40 mm diameter gives a useful starting point, but it cannot settle fit on its own. Wrist shape, the watch’s lug-to-lug length and personal preference all matter; Mido’s reviewed model pages do not state the lug-to-lug measurement. Trying the watch on is the best way to judge how its proportions sit. One reader commenting on Monochrome’s article said Mido watches can feel too large for medium and small wrists; that is an individual reaction, not a representative survey. [c006]
