Ochs und Junior credits Positive Coating in La Chaux-de-Fonds with the coating process and describes the surface as built through physical vapor deposition, controlled layer by layer. What changed for the Settimana’s 20th anniversary?
The anniversary framing needs a little context. Ochs und Junior’s model history says Ludwig Oechslin launched the company in 2006 with the weekday watch, while the official PVD announcement identifies 2008 as the original Settimana design date. The brand presents the release as marking twenty years of work on an early company idea; those dates describe different milestones, not a single unambiguous launch date. Both versions share the stated 36 mm case and the same weekday indication. The choice is therefore primarily visual: pink against black offers a more pronounced contrast, while the brown-and-gold treatment is warmer and more restrained. That is a matter of preference, not a different specification or complication.
How does the Settimana show the day of the week?
A rotating dot travels around the dial’s outer indications to mark the current weekday. It progresses from Monday at 1 o’clock through Sunday at 7 o’clock. At the beginning of the week, the dot moves through the arc from 8 to 12 o’clock and restarts at Monday on Monday morning.
The brand describes the weekday module as four parts: a brass dial with a functional back, a gear with weekday display, a triple function wheel and a transmission wheel. That mechanism is the Settimana’s defining feature; the PVD treatment changes the dial’s look without changing this display.

How much does the Settimana PVD cost?
Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of CHF 2,300 export, or CHF 2,486 including 8.1% Swiss tax, in coverage published January 26, 2026. It also reported a 50% deposit and an estimated delivery time of approximately eight weeks.
