Its in-house F9B82 caliber has a silicon escape wheel, over 72 hours of stated power reserve and published accuracy of +10 to -4 seconds per day. Orient Star lists the launch for December 2026; it has not published a price in the official materials reviewed.
What is the new Orient Star Skeleton?
The RE-BR0001N is a 130-piece worldwide limited edition introduced by Orient Star in 2026. The brand positions it as a flagship skeleton watch, with an openworked dial that reveals the mechanical movement and a layered arrangement of circular forms. It is a hand-wound model, not an automatic watch.
Orient Star describes the design as an expression of “time and space,” drawing on Japanese aesthetics and the idea of ma. That is the brand’s design language, rather than an independent assessment. The release also places the watch in a longer line of Orient Star skeleton models: the brand says its pursuit began with the 1991 Mon Bijou, followed by its first Skeleton in 1998, and notes a 2021 Skeleton with a silicon escape wheel.
What are the RE-BR0001N’s movement and specifications?
Orient Star specifies an in-house F9B82 hand-wound mechanical caliber. It includes a silicon escape wheel, power-reserve indicator, hacking seconds and 20 jewels. The following figures are manufacturer-published specifications for the RE-BR0001N in 2026.

The +10 to -4 seconds-per-day figure is Orient Star’s stated accuracy specification, not a guarantee of how every individual watch will perform in everyday wear. The 3-bar rating is a modest level of water resistance; it should not be read as a swimming or diving rating.
How is the case and dial finished?
Orient Star says the case combines mirrored Sallaz polishing with hand-applied hairline finishing and inking. The release also describes blue-tempered hands and screws, and a three-tier arrangement of overlapping circular forms. These are manufacturer descriptions of the watch’s construction and appearance.

The RE-BR0001N and the Contemporary Modern Skeleton are separate product lines, not two names for the same watch. One official comparison point is the RE-AV0135L, an existing Contemporary Modern Skeleton model. The specifications below are those published by Orient Star; no price comparison is possible from the reviewed materials.

The distinction matters most in how each is specified: the RE-BR0001N is hand-wound and more compact, with a longer stated reserve but lower water resistance. The RE-AV0135L is automatic and rated to 100 m. Neither profile is inherently better for every wearer; priorities such as winding preference, water exposure and the limited-edition format will shape the choice.

Who might the RE-BR0001N suit?
- Choose it for visible mechanics: the skeleton design and sapphire exhibition back put the movement at the center of the watch.
- Consider the winding routine: this is a hand-wound caliber, so it requires manual winding rather than relying on wrist motion.
- Check the fit figures: Orient Star lists a 40 mm width, 46.8 mm height, 9.5 mm thickness and 150–190 mm wrist-size range.
- Match the water rating to use: 3 bar (30 m) is not the stronger water-resistance profile offered by the RE-AV0135L.
- Confirm launch details locally: the listed December 2026 launch does not by itself establish a retailer, price or availability in a particular market.
