The Oris Aquis Pro 4000m is a deliberately oversized mechanical diver built around a 400 bar (4,000 metre) water-resistance rating, a lockable bezel and Oris’s five-day Calibre 400 movement. Its 49.50 mm titanium case and substantial thickness are central to the watch—not details to overlook. The exact model is reference 01 400 7777 7155-Set; Oris’s en-LU product page lists it at EUR 5,800, a locale-specific price rather than a universal current retail price.

What is the Oris Aquis Pro 4000m?

Oris presents the Aquis Pro 4000m as its most advanced diver’s watch. The headline specification is a 400 bar rating, equivalent to 4,000 metres, in a multi-piece titanium case. That figure describes the watch’s stated water-resistance rating; it is not advice to use it at that depth or a certification for a particular form of technical or saturation diving.

The official specification sheet identifies a blue dial, ceramic minutes-scale top ring, rubber strap, domed sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective coating and screwed titanium caseback. The interhorn width is 26 mm. At 49.50 mm across, this is an imposing watch even before accounting for its depth and length.

How large is it on the wrist?

Oris lists a 49.50 mm case diameter. At launch in 2023, Hodinkee and Dive into Watches reported a 23.4 mm thickness; Hodinkee also gave a 55 mm lug-to-lug measurement. Those proportions put fit and comfort ahead of the impressive depth rating for many prospective buyers. A large diameter, thick case and long lug span can be difficult to accommodate beneath a cuff or on a smaller wrist.

Hodinkee characterized the design as “a maximalist take on a dive watch” and said it wears more like dive equipment than a conventional watch. That is the publication’s launch-era impression, not a hands-on assessment here. If possible, trying the watch on is the most useful way to judge its scale.

What does the Rotation Safety System bezel do?

The Aquis Pro’s bezel uses Oris’s Rotation Safety System (RSS), a mechanism intended to keep the ceramic minutes scale from being moved accidentally while timing a dive. Oris’s 2024 product booklet says: “We consulted the professional diving community to develop an innovative bezel-locking system that secures a bezel in place to prevent accidental adjustments while timing a dive.” This is the manufacturer’s description of its design purpose, not independent proof of safety performance.

  1. Lift the bezel to release the lock.
  2. Rotate the ceramic minutes scale to align it with the minute hand.
  3. Push the bezel down to lock it in place.

The system adds a deliberate operation compared with a conventional rotating dive bezel. Its appeal depends on whether that positive locking action matters to you and whether you like the feel of the mechanism.

What movement powers the watch?

Inside is Oris Calibre 400, an automatic movement with a date display, stop-seconds and a 120-hour (five-day) power reserve, according to Oris’s product page. The reserve means the watch can continue running for up to five days when fully wound and left unworn, subject to use and condition. Oris also describes the movement as anti-magnetic and reliable; those are manufacturer claims.

How much does the Oris Aquis Pro 4000m cost?

Prices depend on market and date. Oris’s en-LU product page displays EUR 5,800. At launch in 2023, Hodinkee reported US$6,200 and immediate availability through Oris retailers; Dive into Watches reported a CHF 5,700 launch list price in its 29 August 2023 coverage. The latter two figures are historical launch prices, not current prices for every market.

For a purchase decision, check the Oris page or an authorized retailer for the price and availability applicable to your country. The EUR figure above is specifically the price shown on Oris’s Luxembourg-language locale page.

What warranty does Oris provide?

Oris’s technical details list a two-year warranty. The brand says free MyOris registration extends the warranty to ten years, so the longer term should not be assumed without completing registration and checking the current conditions. Oris also describes ten-year service intervals; that is separate from the warranty period.

Who is this watch for?

The Aquis Pro 4000m makes the most sense for someone who actively wants an unusually large, technical-looking titanium diver and values the RSS bezel, 400 bar rating and five-day reserve. Its engineering and distinctive proportions are the point, rather than a discreet everyday profile.

It is less compelling if you want a slim watch, a conventional wrist presence, or a model whose price is justified mainly by practical everyday convenience. Before choosing, compare the actual fit, bezel operation, movement and power reserve, water-resistance rating, and the price in your market—not depth figures alone.
