The Peacock Tai Chi is a limited-edition mechanical watch built around a three-axis spherical tourbillon. Peacock says its tourbillon cage measures 8.0 mm across and the assembly weighs 0.436 g, but those figures—and any claim that the watch is the world’s smallest and lightest—are manufacturer claims, not independently verified records.
What is the Peacock Tai Chi?
Peacock lists the watch as the “Peacock Tai Chi Curved Guilloché Triple-Axis Tourbillon Watch [Limited].” Its defining feature is a spherical tourbillon whose cage rotates around three axes. The dial is curved and guilloché-finished, while two concentric titanium discs indicate the hours and minutes around the tourbillon, according to the manufacturer’s product listing.
A tourbillon is a rotating assembly that carries the escapement and balance wheel. In this watch, Peacock describes three nested rotations rather than a single rotating cage. The arrangement is the visual and mechanical centrepiece; the time is read from the surrounding discs rather than conventional central hands.
Is it really the world’s smallest and lightest triple-axis tourbillon?
That record is not established by the available evidence. Peacock reports an 8.0 mm cage diameter and a 0.436 g assembly weight, and describes the design as exceptionally compact and light. Those are the brand’s figures; no independent measurement or comparable survey is cited on the product page. Nor is there a verified like-for-like comparison showing that the Tai Chi is smaller or lighter than every other triple-axis tourbillon.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Detailed 3D-Printed Triple-Axis Tourbillon Model】This finely crafted tourbillon model demonstrates the coordinated movement of a three-axis rotating mechanism and escapement system. Made from durable PET material, it is ideal for mechanical displays, horology collections, and STEM education.
- 【Realistic Watch Movement Structure】The model recreates key components found in a traditional tourbillon movement, including the escapement, balance wheel, hairspring, and interconnected gears. Its visible mechanical structure makes complex watchmaking principles easier to observe and understand.
- 【Precision-Made Multicolor Components】Carefully 3D printed with clearly separated multicolor parts, precise gear connections, and detailed mechanical features. The compact design delivers an eye-catching miniature representation of a sophisticated tourbillon movement.
- 【Unique Desktop Display and Gift】The rotating triple-axis tourbillon creates a distinctive mechanical display for desks, shelves, offices, classrooms, and workshops. A thoughtful gift for watch enthusiasts, engineers, collectors, technology lovers, teachers, and students.
- 【Pre-Assembled and Ready to Display】The tourbillon model arrives fully assembled, so no DIY installation is required. Simply place it on your desk or display shelf to observe the interlocking gears and classic watch-movement-inspired structure right out of the box.
The distinction matters: cage diameter is not the same as the size of the complete movement, and the stated weight applies to the tourbillon assembly rather than the whole watch. Without independently checked measurements and comparable definitions, “world’s smallest and lightest” should be treated as a brand claim, not a confirmed world record.
What technical details does Peacock publish?
Peacock says the three axes rotate at different speeds: 60, 15, and 50 seconds per revolution. It also gives a count of 81 components for the cage. These are manufacturer-published figures; the listing does not provide independent verification.

The same page describes a case in 18K white gold and states a 70-piece limited edition. It includes a specification block listing 48 hours of power reserve, 37 jewels, 21,600 A/h, a 43.5 mm diameter, and 14.95 mm thickness. However, the listing also contains a separate specification block that describes a different movement and a 904L steel case measuring 46 mm, among other conflicting values. Because the page does not clearly reconcile those blocks, the diameter, thickness, movement specifications, and related details should be confirmed with Peacock before being treated as settled Tai Chi specifications.
What do the price and availability listing indicate?
The product page displays a price of USD 61,999, but its availability signals conflict: it includes sold-out language while also presenting preorder terms, including a 30% deposit and an estimated delivery date of June 30, 2027. The listing does not make the watch’s current order status clear. Prospective buyers should confirm the price, production status, delivery timing, and deposit terms directly with Peacock before placing an order.

What can a buyer reasonably conclude?
The Tai Chi is a real Peacock watch with an unusual three-axis tourbillon, a curved guilloché dial, and a concentric-disc time display. Its reported cage dimensions and weight make the miniature tourbillon a central selling point, but the “smallest and lightest” distinction remains unverified. The product page is useful for understanding Peacock’s design and claims, while its conflicting specifications and mixed availability language mean it should not be treated as a fully consistent technical or ordering reference.
