Their main distinction is color: Pluto pairs a silvered matte base with blue hands, while Mars uses a red-gold-plated matte base and black hands. Both are listed at 42 mm wide, 10.4 mm thick and 46 mm lug-to-lug, with a modified Chronode P1003 movement and a 60-hour power reserve.
How Pluto and Mars differ
The two watches share their construction and specifications; the dial finish and hand color provide the clearest visual distinction. Sarpaneva describes Pluto as the “Cold orbit” and Mars as the “Burning orbit.”

Each dial is assembled from four hand-finished stainless-steel parts with DLC coating. The numerals are stencilled, and the hands use four colours of hand-painted Swiss Super-LumiNova.
Case, movement and display
Korona case
StudioSarpaneva specifies a 42 mm case in Finnish Outokumpu stainless steel, identified by the maker as SUPRA 316L/4435. Brushed and polished surfaces give the case contrasting finishes. The official dimensions are 10.4 mm thick and 46 mm from lug to lug. Front and back sapphire crystals have internal anti-reflective coating; the crown screws down at 4 o’clock. Water resistance is rated at 10 ATM.

There is a published thickness discrepancy: Time and Watches gives 11.4 mm, whereas both current StudioSarpaneva product pages and Monochrome Watches state 10.4 mm. The maker’s current figure is the most direct specification for the watches it offers.
Modified Chronode P1003
Both models use an automatic, modified Chronode P1003 calibre. The movement runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), has 34 jewels and is specified with a 60-hour power reserve. The display comprises hours, minutes and small seconds. StudioSarpaneva describes the movement as rhodium-plated with matte finishing, and the Sarpaneva Moonface winding mass runs on a ceramic ball bearing.

StudioSarpaneva lists each model as limited to 20 pieces. Its individual product pages display a €16,500 price before tax for the handmade leather-strap configuration; the maker says taxes are calculated at checkout according to destination country. The collection page also displays a €19,000 before-tax bracelet configuration. Monochrome Watches reported at launch in February 2026 that the Moonbridge steel bracelet was a €2,500 pre-VAT supplement.
The official pages list an eight-week delivery estimate, but availability, delivery timing, displayed prices and destination taxes can change. Confirm the current terms on the Stardust Pluto product page, Stardust Mars product page and Sarpaneva collection page before ordering.

Strap and bracelet details
The listed standard handmade leather strap is 22 mm wide and closes with an 18 mm stainless-steel pin buckle. An optional Moonbridge steel bracelet is also offered. The maker’s published information does not establish compatibility with third-party straps or bracelets.
