The Slim d’Hermès Quantième Perpétuel returns in a new rose-gold-and-brown execution: a 39.5 mm polished case, brown dial and matte Havana alligator strap surrounding the established H1950 automatic movement and perpetual-calendar module. It pairs a restrained, warm-toned design with a dense display for the calendar, moon phase and second time zone.
A new colorway for a familiar Slim complication
Hermès identifies the rose-gold model as reference W407953WW00. Its 39.5 mm case is paired with a brown dial, a long single-tour matte Havana alligator strap and a rose-gold pin buckle. The Slim collection began in 2015, and the perpetual calendar became one of its signature complications; Hermès says the model won the Calendar Watch Prize at that year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Hermès’ US product page lists the current reference and specifications.
The case measures 9.05 mm thick according to Monochrome Watches’ technical section; its article text rounds that figure to 9.06 mm. The difference is a minor rounding variation, not a separate case specification. Anti-glare sapphire crystal covers the dial, with a sapphire caseback. Water resistance is rated at 3 bar, but Hermès advises avoiding all contact with water while wearing the leather strap. Monochrome’s launch coverage details the case and dial execution.
How the dial organizes calendar and travel-time information
Hours and minutes sit within a dial divided between a sunburst chapter ring and a sandblasted center. Four counters arrange the complications around the face: date at 12 o’clock, moon phase at 3, month and leap-year indication at 9, and a second time zone at 6. The moon is rendered in white mother-of-pearl against blue aventurine; gilded hands and counter frames add contrast, while the second-time-zone counter is eggshell-colored.

A day/night indicator helps distinguish the time of day for the second time zone. Monochrome notes that it turns red just after midnight, acting as a warning cue before calendar adjustment. That detail matters because calendar corrections should not be made at a mechanically sensitive point in the cycle; consult the watch’s instructions for the proper setting procedure rather than treating the indicator as a substitute for them.
H1950 base, ultra-thin calendar module
This is not a wholly new movement. Hermès describes the watch as using its self-winding Manufacture H1950 movement with a perpetual-calendar module. Monochrome reports a 2.6 mm Vaucher-made automatic micro-rotor base and a 1.4 mm Agenhor calendar module, for a combined movement thickness of 4 mm. The H1950 operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour. The architectural split helps explain how the watch can keep its slim profile while carrying a full calendar and second-time-zone display. Fondation Haute Horlogerie’s family reference also describes the base-and-module construction, though its documented version lists a different power reserve.

For reference W407953WW00, Hermès specifies an approximately 48-hour power reserve. Monochrome likewise reports 48 hours for the rose-gold/brown release. The Fondation Haute Horlogerie page gives 42 hours for the version it describes; that figure should not be substituted for Hermès’ specification of this reference.
What the perpetual calendar does—and does not—correct
The mechanism tracks month lengths and the ordinary four-year leap-year cycle, displaying the date, month and leap-year information alongside the moon phase. It does not account for the Gregorian calendar’s century-year exception: years divisible by 100 are not leap years unless they are also divisible by 400. Hermès specifically notes that 2100 is a common year, so the watch will eventually need a manual calendar correction. “Perpetual” therefore describes its ability to handle the regular calendar cycle without routine month-end adjustment, not an ability to follow the Gregorian calendar indefinitely without intervention.

Monochrome reported a launch retail price of EUR 39,550 in its article dated December 5, 2025. Hermès’ US product page displayed $51,700 when accessed on October 7, 2026. These are prices in different currencies and markets, recorded on different dates; they do not establish a like-for-like increase or indicate availability in every country.
