TAG Heuer introduced two limited-edition Carrera Chronographs for Lunar New Year 2024: a 42 mm steel model, reference CBN201H.FC6553, limited to 300 pieces, and a rose-gold model, reference CBN2048.FC8323, limited to 50. Both pair red accents with a Dragon character on the dial and a Chinese Dragon image on the sapphire caseback. The steel reference is now marked discontinued on TAG Heuer’s product page.
Two Year of the Dragon Carreras, not one
TAG Heuer’s 17 January 2024 launch announcement introduced the watches as Lunar New Year editions. They share the 42 mm Carrera Chronograph format and Dragon-themed dial and caseback details, but differ in case material, dial finish, edition size and reference number.

The edition counts and distinguishing finishes are from TAG Heuer’s launch announcement. The smaller gold edition count describes production quantity; it does not establish future appreciation or resale value.
Dragon details and shared design
On both watches, red azuré subdials sit at 3 and 9 o’clock, with a red lacquered hand and a calligraphic Dragon character at 6. TAG Heuer describes the steel model’s indexes as rhodium-plated and the rose-gold model’s as 18K 5N pink-gold-plated. A Chinese Dragon image appears on each sapphire caseback, and both are described with red alligator straps.

The combination keeps the Carrera chronograph layout while making the Lunar New Year theme explicit through the red accents and Dragon motifs. TAG Heuer’s announcement names actor Liu Haoran as a brand ambassador, but does not include a direct quote from him about these watches.

These technical details are for the steel reference. TAG Heuer’s launch announcement also gives an 80-hour power reserve for the two watches, but the official pages reviewed do not establish a full, comparable technical specification list for the rose-gold reference.

TAG Heuer’s UK product page currently marks CBN201H.FC6553 discontinued. The same page displayed £6,150, while an Estonia product page displayed €7,000 and also marked it discontinued. Those are region-specific page displays, not confirmation of current stock, a universal retail price or a resale valuation.

At launch, TAG Heuer said distribution would be through its boutiques, e-commerce sites in selected countries and selected retail partners. That launch statement does not establish present inventory or current availability from any particular seller.
