What is the Tourbillon Grand Sport?
The Tourbillon Grand Sport (reference TGS) is an independent watch by Théo Auffret, presented as a more contemporary, sport-oriented evolution of his Tourbillon à Paris. The watch puts its mechanics on display rather than hiding them beneath a conventional solid dial: a sapphire chapter ring sits above the exposed movement, with the tourbillon forming the small-seconds display.
Monochrome Watches reported that the model was a finalist in the 2022 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Tourbillon category. It was a finalist, not the category winner.
How the display and tourbillon work
Hours, minutes and seconds
Central blued-steel hands indicate the hours and minutes. Their tips are shaped like droplets, and applied hour markers sit on a sapphire chapter ring. Seconds are shown by a fine titanium hand mounted on the one-minute tourbillon.

The torque indicator is not a power-reserve countdown
A separate titanium hand points to an arched torque scale. It indicates the movement’s remaining torque; it does not state the number of hours the watch will continue running. Monochrome reported 50 hours of autonomy when the movement is fully wound, but that figure is not what the torque display reads.
Case and movement construction
A 41 mm titanium case
Monochrome’s October 2022 introduction gives the case dimensions as 41 mm in diameter and 13 mm in height, with 30 m water resistance. The titanium case has brushed surfaces and polished, bevelled edges. Its caseband, bezel and caseback are described as concave, and the domed sapphire crystal and sapphire caseback frame the open movement.

Manual-winding calibre and component sourcing
The reported handmade, hand-finished movement is a manual-winding tourbillon calibre operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, with 50 hours of autonomy when fully wound. Its mainplate is described as German silver with a charcoal-style “Charbonage” finish. The movement uses a Precision Engineering Swiss lever escapement and some parts from the Peseux 260 calibre.
Monochrome says specialist suppliers provide most components, while adjustments, finishing and assembly are performed in-house. That distinction matters: the reporting does not establish that every component is made in-house.

Strap
The reported strap combines handmade leather and textile and closes with a pin buckle. It is described as visually integrated with the case; the 2022 coverage does not establish a separately sold replacement strap or accessory.

Planned production, price and availability
Monochrome’s article, dated 28 October 2022, said no more than four examples would be built and sold through a Montre de Souscription (subscription watch) program, at EUR 128,000 before taxes. Quill & Pad’s October 2022 coverage also described a four-piece subscription watch, but gave CHF 133,000 in its quick facts. Those are separate, dated reports in different currencies—not interchangeable current quotes.
Current availability, delivery status of the four planned watches and present-day prices were not established in those reports. The launch-era subscription terms should not be read as proof that the watch can still be ordered.

How the design was received
Quill & Pad’s 2022 panelists did not share one view: one found the dial too busy, another liked the contemporary reboot, and another questioned the design’s visual coherence and its “sport” label. These are individual opinions, not a consensus or hands-on assessment.
