The Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Selfwinding Chronograph Tuscany Dial pairs an unusually textured blue dial with a case built from blue ceramic and 18k white gold. Its diamond hour markers and date-free layout make this 2025 special edition a distinctive take on the 41 mm Code 11.59 chronograph.
What makes the Tuscany Blue dial unexpected?
The dial’s grainy surface is the main departure. Monochrome Watches reported on 28 February 2025 that Tuscany Blue is a relatively rare treatment in Audemars Piguet’s collection. The brand’s earlier Tuscan dials, including examples on 1990s Royal Oak Perpetual Calendars, were hand-hammered to create an irregular, speckled texture. For this Code 11.59, Monochrome describes a different approach: a technique similar to sandblasting. The current dial should not be confused with the historical hand-hammered method.
The blue surface is paired with three snailed blue sub-dials and baguette-cut diamond hour markers. A raised peripheral flange carries a tachymeter scale and a sloped minutes-and-seconds track. Unlike other Code 11.59 chronographs described by Monochrome, this reference has no date window. White-gold hour and minute hands have luminescent tips.
How the case and strap frame the dial
The 41 mm case combines an octagonal blue ceramic middle with an 18k white-gold structure: bezel, caseback, openworked lugs, crown and pushers. Monochrome describes alternating satin-brushed surfaces and polished chamfers. A double-curved, glareproofed sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the sapphire caseback reveals the movement. Reported thickness is 12.6 mm, with water resistance of 30 m.

The listed strap is blue textured rubber-coated material with calfskin lining, secured by an 18k white-gold pin buckle. That combination keeps the blue theme running beyond the dial while bringing white gold back at the clasp.
Calibre 4409 and flyback operation
The watch is powered by Audemars Piguet’s in-house calibre 4409, an automatic integrated flyback chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. A flyback lets the wearer reset and restart the chronograph in one action, rather than stopping it first. The movement provides hours, minutes, small seconds, and chronograph counters for 12 hours and 30 minutes.
