Piaget’s two new Limelight Gala Precious watches make their distinction in the gold itself: one pairs hand-engraved Decor Palace texture with white and cognac diamonds; the other combines a scale-like engraving, orange Grand Feu enamel and gradient spessartite garnets. Both are 32 mm rose-gold models with an asymmetrical gem-set bezel and the automatic 501P1 calibre, according to the launch report.
Two editions, two treatments of gold
Monochrome Watches introduced the references on 24 February 2026 as G0A51187 Decor Palace and G0A51188 Snake Scale Grand Feu. Their shared Limelight Gala silhouette frames two markedly different combinations of surface, color and gemstones.
G0A51187 Decor Palace
The 18k rose-gold bracelet and dial carry Piaget’s hand-engraved Decor Palace finish. Monochrome describes the texture as irregular horizontal lines with a textile-like effect. The asymmetrical bezel is set with 42 white and cognac diamonds arranged in a graduated color composition, according to the launch report. Piaget’s official product page identifies G0A51187 as a rose-gold diamond watch: Piaget Limelight Gala G0A51187.
G0A51188 Snake Scale Grand Feu
This edition uses hand-worked overlapping engravings intended to evoke scales, alongside an orange Grand Feu enamel dial. Monochrome reports 20 white diamonds and 22 gradient spessartite garnets on the bezel. The warm orange dial and colored stones give it a more vivid contrast than the Decor Palace model’s tonal mix of gold and diamonds.

501P1 figures differ between sources
The launch report and Piaget’s currently displayed movement specifications do not agree on the calibre’s frequency or power reserve, so the figures should be read with their source attached rather than combined.
- Monochrome’s 24 February 2026 launch report: 3.6 mm thick, 21,600 vibrations per hour and 43 hours of power reserve.
- Piaget’s official 501P1 page, checked 8 October 2026: 3.63 mm thick, 28,800 vibrations per hour and approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Piaget’s official G0A51187 page also lists 28,800 vibrations per hour and 40 hours.
The available figures do not establish which specification applies to both new references, and they do not support a performance comparison between the watches. Piaget’s movement figures appear on its official 501P1 page.
How the watches fit the Limelight Gala story
Piaget dates the Limelight Gala to 1973 and presents the collection around sensual asymmetry, extended lugs, gem-set bezels and gold bracelets. Its collection page describes bracelets in Milanese mesh or engraved gold, and identifies Decor Palace as a hand-engraved finish: Piaget Limelight Gala collection.

Monochrome’s launch account credits designer Jean-Claude Gueit with the predecessor’s design and connects the watches’ decorative gold language to Piaget’s 1969 21st Century Collection, which included textured gold jewelry watches powered by the 2 mm manual-winding calibre 9P. In Piaget’s broader account of its High Jewelry history, ultra-thin movements and decorative experimentation sit alongside the idea that, as Yves G. Piaget put it, “a watch is first and foremost a piece of jewelry.” See Piaget’s Limelight Gala High Jewelry history.
