Possibly—but Google has not confirmed a new Fitbit called the Fitbit Edge. Reports published on October 5, 2026, describe leaked renders and alleged specifications; treat the name, design, features, price and timing as unverified until Google makes an announcement.
What is the Fitbit Edge?
Fitbit Edge is the name used in recent reporting about a possible new Google wearable. Android Central says Android Headlines published renders and details of the device, and TechRadar also attributes its account to that leak. The reports are not a Google announcement, so there is no confirmed product name or specification sheet.
The concept described in the leak appears to sit between the screenless Fitbit Air and a full smartwatch such as a Pixel Watch: a fitness tracker with a small screen and a limited set of smart functions. Android Central frames it as a possible successor to the Charge line, whose recent model is the Charge 6, but Google has not announced a Charge replacement plan. Earlier, Wareable reported that Google had indicated new Fitbit hardware was planned for 2026, without identifying specific models; that background does not verify the Edge: Wareable.
What features are reported—and what remains unconfirmed?
According to the leak coverage, the Edge could have an oval display for basic information such as the time, date, heart rate and step count, plus a workout shortcut. Reports also mention notifications and functions associated with Google Maps, YouTube Music and Find My Phone. These descriptions do not establish which apps or notification types would be supported, or how they would work.

Separate Fitbit Charge 7 speculation should not be treated as confirmation of the Edge: Wareable says regulatory listings do not prove that a device is a Charge 7: Wareable’s report.

How does the rumored Edge compare with the confirmed Fitbit Air?
Fitbit Air is a confirmed, screenless tracker Google announced on May 7, 2026. It provides a useful contrast, but it is not the rumored Edge. The table separates Google’s announced Air details from claims attributed to Edge leak reporting.

Google’s announcement gives the Air’s features, compatibility and U.S. starting price: Fitbit Air on the Google Blog. If you want an announced Fitbit tracker now, the Air is the confirmed option among the two discussed here; its lack of a screen is a fundamental difference from the leaked Edge concept.
What should Fitbit users know about the app?
Google says the Fitbit app became the Google Health app beginning May 19, 2026. That branding change is useful context when looking up current Fitbit devices, but it does not confirm the Edge or establish which app it might use. Google’s support page explains the transition: Google Health Help Center.

What would confirm the Fitbit Edge?
A Google product announcement or an official product listing would establish whether the Edge exists under that name and clarify its specifications, compatibility, price and availability. Until then, the most accurate description is a reported Fitbit concept with a screen—not a confirmed Google product. The current leak coverage is available from Android Central and TechRadar.
