At full price, its bulk and mode-dependent battery claims make it a harder sell. Buyers whose wrists suit a 47 mm case may find it compelling; those prioritizing a slimmer, brighter, newer watch should compare the Ultra 2 before deciding.
What the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) offers
Samsung’s 2026 interim report lists the Galaxy Watch Ultra (47 mm) with a 37.3 mm Super AMOLED display at 480 × 480 resolution, an Exynos W1000 five-core 3 nm processor, Wear OS 5, dual-frequency GPS, LTE, and a 590 mAh battery. It also has a Dynamic Lug band attachment system and a 10ATM water-resistance rating. These specifications point to a watch built for outdoor use, rather than a compact everyday wearable. How large is it, and will it fit?
The case measures 47.4 × 47.1 × 12.1 mm and weighs 60.5 g, according to Samsung’s 2026 interim report. That is a substantial watch: case width, thickness, and weight can all affect comfort, especially on smaller wrists or when sleeping with a watch on. Fit is personal, so try it on if possible rather than assuming that a band or case that suits another Galaxy Watch will feel similar. Samsung Electronics 2026 interim report.
Samsung identifies the attachment as its Dynamic Lug system. If you plan to use another strap, confirm that it is compatible with this exact watch rather than relying on a band’s compatibility with a different Galaxy Watch model.

What its battery claims do—and do not—mean
Samsung specifies up to 100 hours in Power saving mode and up to 48 hours in exercise Power saving mode. Those figures apply to the named modes; they are not promises of that runtime during ordinary use with every feature enabled. Settings and activity affect how often you will need to charge, and the listed figures do not establish a tested everyday runtime. Samsung Electronics 2026 interim report.
How it compares with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

The older Ultra is most persuasive when a substantial discount makes it clearly cheaper than the Ultra 2 and you specifically want its large case, LTE option, and outdoor-oriented hardware. If prices are close, the Ultra 2’s reported improvements in thickness, display brightness, battery capacity, and ingress protection make it the more compelling one to compare. This is a value judgment based on the cited specifications and dated comparison, not a claim of hands-on testing.
Check phone and feature support before buying
The available Samsung specifications establish Wear OS 5 and selected hardware and health features, but they do not provide a complete compatibility matrix for every phone, country, carrier, or health function. Confirm with Samsung that your phone and region support the exact features you plan to use, and check LTE availability with your carrier before choosing an LTE model. - Check support before purchase if your decision depends on a particular health feature, phone, carrier, or country.
TechRadar’s review updated August 1, 2024 described the original Ultra as technically strong while flagging battery life, price, and bulk as drawbacks. That review predates the 2025 refresh, so it is context for the shared design and trade-offs—not a hands-on review of the 2025 model. TechRadar’s 2024 review. Consumer Reports’ search listing describes the 2025 watch as relatively accurate among tested smart wearables and strong in fitness tracking, including heart-rate measurement, but the full test details are not available in that listing; it does not support a specific accuracy figure.
