The ITAnano Phantom Carbon Automatic 49 is a historic automatic model, identified in a 2014 review as reference PH4900-CB PH01R and powered by a Miyota 8215. It is not the same watch as the quartz variants on ITAnano’s current Phantom Carbon 49 page: those listings specify a Ronda 505 quartz movement. The older reviews describe the automatic watch, but do not confirm that it is available today.
What the 2014 reviews say about the automatic Phantom Carbon
WatchReport’s November 26, 2014 review identifies the automatic model as PH4900-CB PH01R. The reviewer describes a carbon case, carbon-fibre dial, K1 mineral glass, aluminum lug screws and a leather strap with red and white stitching on the sample reviewed. The strap details and construction observations are specific to that review sample, not a guarantee that every production example is identical. Read the WatchReport review.
Total Design Reviews’ July 28, 2014 account reports a 49 mm measurement including the crown, approximately 85 g weight, 70 m water resistance and a 40-hour power reserve for the automatic model. It also gives a price of €405 (approximately $548 at the time). Those are figures reported in a 2014 review, not current specifications or pricing. Read the Total Design Reviews article.
Automatic and quartz Phantom Carbon 49 are different variants
ITAnano’s current Phantom Carbon 49 page lists quartz variants, not the historic automatic PH4900-CB PH01R. Its specifications therefore should not be used as specifications for the automatic watch.

What may matter in daily use
The crown and strap changes
WatchReport reviewer Kenneth Drysdale found the crown awkward to operate while the watch was on the wrist: “I found the crown of the Phantom Carbon to be a bit of a nuisance, as it is not easy to manipulate while on wrist.” He says the watch must be removed to adjust it. The review describes a push-pull crown and notes that the spring bars sit deep in the strap, advising care during strap changes to avoid damaging the case. These are the reviewer’s handling observations, not independent testing.

Crystal and movement opinions
Drysdale considered K1 mineral glass more prone to scratches and more reflective than sapphire, and preferred sapphire. That is the reviewer’s assessment; it does not establish how a particular watch will fare in wear. He described the Miyota 8215 as reliable while preferring the Miyota 9015. Treat that as one reviewer’s preference, not a general ranking of movements.
Is it available now?
The available historical reviews confirm that the automatic model was reviewed in 2014, but they do not establish current stock or a current price. ITAnano’s current Phantom Carbon 49 page shows quartz listings marked out of stock; that status says nothing conclusive about whether the older automatic model can be found elsewhere or whether it is still offered. If considering a listing, verify the reference and movement directly: PH4900-CB PH01R and Miyota 8215 identify the automatic version in WatchReport, while the current official page describes Ronda 505 quartz variants.

Who should consider the Phantom Carbon Automatic 49?
The historic automatic has a distinctive carbon-case and carbon-fibre-dial design, with an automatic Miyota movement and the reported 49 mm footprint. Its size, crown access, mineral crystal and the practical caution around strap changes are relevant trade-offs. Because the model’s current availability and price are unconfirmed, the 2014 price should be treated only as historical context—not as a buying benchmark today.
