What is the steel IW329601?
IW329601 is IWC’s stainless-steel version of the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet Le Petit Prince. IWC lists a blue sunray-finished dial, a 42 mm case diameter and 14 mm case height. The watch displays the date, weekday, month, four-digit year and perpetual moon phase, including a Double Moon display for the northern and southern hemispheres. The case has a screwed-in crown and is rated to 10 bar water resistance. IWC specifies a convex sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a synthetic sapphire crystal in the case back. The supplied blue rubber strap uses IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system; the listed strap width is 21 mm, and IWC says an additional accessory strap is included.
What ProSet changes about the perpetual calendar
IWC describes ProSet as a gear-based calendar with a synchronized gear design. Its key practical distinction is adjustment: the calendar can be set forwards or backwards through one crown position. This is a change to how the calendar is adjusted, not a reason to assume that every calendar indication or operating detail is identical across IWC models.

The watch is powered by IWC-manufactured automatic calibre 82665, with Pellaton winding, 280 components, 34 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). IWC lists a 60-hour power reserve. The movement supports the perpetual calendar and moon-phase indications; the product page gives the specific display set for this reference.
IWC’s 14 April 2026 ProSet announcement says the moon-phase display deviates by just one day after 1040 years. That is IWC’s published claim, not an independently established test result. The release says the system debuted in three Big Pilot editions—in 18-carat 5N gold, white ceramic and stainless steel—all using calibre 82665. Read IWC’s technical announcement.

How much does IWC list the steel model for?
IWC’s US product page lists IW329601 at US$40,200, VAT excluded (page accessed 12 October 2026). This is the manufacturer’s listed US price, not a guarantee of a retailer’s final price, local taxes or current stock. Check IWC or an authorized retailer for the price and availability applicable to your location and purchase date.
Steel IW329601 or white ceramic IW339601?
The white-ceramic model is a separate reference, IW339601. Its case and strap specifications, dimensions and price should not be confused with the steel IW329601. The figures below are IWC’s US product-page listings, accessed 12 October 2026; prices exclude VAT.

IWC lists both as ProSet Le Petit Prince watches, but the steel reference is 42 mm and the ceramic reference is 42.9 mm. The ceramic model’s white case and strap are not features of IW329601. Consult IWC’s product page for IW339601 for its own details.

IWC’s 14 April 2026 collection announcement says the launch marks 20 years of collaboration with the descendants of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The blue sunray dial is presented as a Le Petit Prince signature. That collection context explains the edition name and design treatment; the model’s defining technical distinction is the ProSet calendar adjustment system. What to verify before buying or changing the strap
- Confirm the reference. Make sure the listing or quote specifies IW329601 for stainless steel, rather than IW339601 for white ceramic.
- Check the full price. IWC’s US page excludes VAT; confirm applicable taxes, retailer pricing and availability where you are buying.
- Verify the strap system. A 21 mm width alone does not establish compatibility with an arbitrary replacement strap. Confirm that the strap is suitable for the exact EasX-CHANGE setup and reference.
- Confirm included accessories. IWC lists an additional accessory strap with the steel model; check the contents of the particular offer rather than assuming every seller’s package is identical.
