IWC specifies its automatic calibre 82760 with a 60-hour power reserve. The watch’s defining idea is practical: use the bezel to select a time zone, rather than relying on a separately adjusted GMT hand. The description below draws on IWC’s specifications and a 2021 specialist review; it is not a first-person wear or performance test.
What is the IW395503?
IW395503 is IWC’s Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Edition “Le Petit Prince,” a world-time pilot’s watch with a blue dial, blue ceramic rotating bezel, stainless-steel case and brown calfskin strap. The “Le Petit Prince” name references Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s literary work; Monochrome Watches describes IWC’s collection as commemorating the book. IWC’s product page identifies the reference and its configuration. Monochrome Watches’ 2021 review provides a specialist account of the watch’s bezel-actuated time-zone system.
How does the Timezoner work?
The key distinction is that time-zone adjustment is controlled at the bezel. Monochrome characterizes the watch as a bezel-actuated multi-time-zone watch, while IWC describes its patented Timezoner function and a 24-hour display for the world-time function. That makes the bezel mechanism the central operating feature, rather than a conventional independently adjusted second-hour hand. The available descriptions establish the basic concept, but not every operating detail or edge case, such as daylight-saving changes; consult the instructions for exact use.
Case, dimensions and everyday considerations
IWC lists a 46 mm case diameter and 15 mm height. Those dimensions make it a substantial watch on paper, so buyers should consider case size and thickness against their wrist and preferred fit rather than assume it will wear like a smaller pilot’s watch. IWC specifies a 22 mm strap width and 18 mm buckle width; those measurements are useful when checking replacement straps, but do not guarantee compatibility with every aftermarket strap or attachment.

Is the IW395503 limited edition?
Monochrome Watches reported in its review dated 2 February 2021 that the IW395503 was limited to 1,500 pieces. IWC’s product page cited here does not state the edition size, so the figure is best treated as a historical report by that publication, not an independently confirmed production record or proof that examples are currently available.

Availability and buying considerations
Current new or pre-owned stock and market value are not established by the cited sources. IWC’s regional pages have shown different market-specific prices—the Swiss page listed CHF 13,600 and the UAE page AED 57,400—but those regional listings do not establish a current global price and may change with market, currency, tax and page updates. Check the applicable IWC regional page or an authorized retailer for current local information.
For a pre-owned example, verify the reference, condition, provenance, box and papers, service documentation, seller standing and any warranty directly with the seller. A reported limited run does not establish present resale value or availability.

How it fits a travel-watch shortlist
Compare the IW395503 with other travel watches by looking at the operation of the time-zone complication first: this model uses its bezel, while some alternatives use an independently adjustable GMT hand or another arrangement. Then weigh the 46 mm diameter and 15 mm height against your fit preferences, and compare movement reserve, strap width and water-resistance rating with your own use. Those specifications help frame a comparison; they do not by themselves make one watch objectively better than another.
