The IWC Portugieser Automatic 42 Boutique Edition is reference IW500713, a 2020 model combining an 18-carat 5N gold case with a blue dial and matching blue Santoni alligator strap. Its automatic calibre 52010 provides a seven-day power reserve. This reference is distinct from the newer IW5017-generation Portugieser Automatic 42 watches.
What is the IWC Portugieser Automatic 42 Boutique Edition?
IW500713 is the reference for the Boutique Edition covered here. IWC’s 2020 release described the blue-and-gold design and said selected models were available exclusively through IWC boutiques and IWC.com at the time. That historical launch language does not establish whether IW500713 is still produced, available, or offered at a particular price. IWC’s 2020 Portugieser announcement identifies the edition; Monochrome’s model overview records the reference and technical details.

Movement, functions, and seven-day reserve
Calibre 52010 is an automatic movement with a stated 168-hour reserve, equivalent to seven days when fully wound. IW500713 displays the date and small seconds. These are the specifications associated with this reference; do not substitute details for later Automatic 42 versions, which use calibre 52011.

Case size and water resistance
IW500713 measures 42.3 mm across and 14.2 mm thick, with 3 bar water resistance according to Monochrome’s 2020 specification. The water-resistance rating is a product specification, not a reason to treat this gold-cased watch as a swimming or diving watch; follow IWC’s care guidance for the specific watch.
How IW500713 differs from the newer IW5017 generation
The name “Portugieser Automatic 42” also applies to later references, so the reference number matters when checking specifications or evaluating a listing. IWC’s current IW501707 page gives a 42.4 mm case, 13 mm height, 5 bar water resistance, calibre 52011, and a 168-hour reserve. Those figures describe IW501707, not the 2020 IW500713.
