What is the Jack Mason Ellum Manual Wind?
The Ellum Manual Wind is a stainless-steel dress-style watch. The reviewed green-dial version pairs a woven-looking texture with applied gold-tone markers and a date window at 3 o’clock. A box-type sapphire crystal covers the dial, while a sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the movement. Fratello reviewer Vincent Deschamps praised the dial texture, Texas identity and movement presentation; those are his impressions, not test results.
Deschamps characterized it as “dressy” in the traditional sense. That description fits its proportions, polished presentation and supplied brown leather strap, though the date display and seconds hand give it practical everyday functions too.

How the size and winding routine affect ownership
At 38 mm across and 45 mm from lug tip to lug tip, the reviewed watch has restrained dimensions on paper. Its 9 mm thickness should help it sit neatly under a cuff, while the 20 mm lug width leaves room to personalize the look with a compatible strap. Case shape and wrist proportions still influence fit, so dimensions alone cannot guarantee how it will wear.
The SW210 is wound by hand rather than automatically. Owners should expect to wind it routinely and keep track of its stated 42-hour reserve; the exact routine and setting instructions are available through the brand’s manual lookup. The display caseback makes the movement visible, an aesthetic plus for people who enjoy seeing the mechanism, but it does not change the care required by a mechanical watch.

Price, availability and warranty
Fratello listed the green model at US$949 in its September 2024 review. That figure is historical. Jack Mason’s official leather collection page showed an Ellum Manual Wind Sky at $799 and marked it sold out when accessed in October 2026. The Sky variant and the reviewed green model are not necessarily the same reference or price point, so neither figure establishes today’s price or stock for a specific watch. Jack Mason currently states that watches are covered by a five-year warranty from original purchase for manufacturing defects, and that unauthorized third-party service voids coverage. The brand also says repairs and servicing take place in the United States. Finding the manual and changing the strap
For the correct instructions, Jack Mason says to find the JM-prefixed SKU on the watch back and use it to locate the matching manual on its instructions page. The reviewed watch has a 20 mm lug width and quick-release spring bars, so strap changes do not require a tool for the supplied setup. Width alone does not ensure compatibility: check the replacement strap’s fit at the case and spring bars. Jack Mason says its own straps are sold separately and can be changed without tools.

- Think carefully if you prefer automatic winding, need a watch with a documented independent accuracy result, or prioritize an explicitly tested water-use capability.
- Check before committing to a particular reference, its current availability, exact price, warranty coverage and service requirements.
The Ellum’s strongest appeal is its combination of classic proportions, a visually specific dial and a Swiss hand-wound movement. Whether that combination justifies the price depends on the current offer and how much value you place on its design and manual-winding character; the available review does not establish a head-to-head advantage over competing watches.
