Character Pendant Chain sold for $2.184 million at auction in 2022. It was not a newly released retail piece: the custom medallion dates to 2005 and depicts Pharrell Williams with his N.E.R.D. groupmates.
What the N.E.R.D. Character Pendant Chain is
Complex describes the custom medallion as a three-tone 14-karat gold piece adorned with natural fancy yellow, light pink, and color-enhanced blue diamonds. It portrays Pharrell Williams alongside his N.E.R.D. bandmates. The reporting does not provide a verified stone count, carat weight, dimensions, or condition report.
The $2.184 million figure is the reported auction result—not a stated retail price or the price of a new product launch. Complex and Hypebeast both reported the sale.
Where and when it sold
The chain appeared in JOOPITER’s inaugural Son of a Pharaoh auction, which closed on November 1, 2022. Hypebeast reported $5.25 million in total sales across 47 lots, with approximately 94% of lots sold. That auction-wide total is separate from the pendant’s $2.184 million result.
