Secondary reporting around Rolex’s April 9, 2024 Watches & Wonders announcements identified the Yacht-Master II, the Daytona “Le Mans,” and two Datejust 36 dial variants as catalogue withdrawals. The Yacht-Master II list covers four references, but one—white-gold ref. 116689—was reportedly removed in 2022, not in the 2024 update. Rolex later brought the Yacht-Master II back in a redesigned generation, so these withdrawals describe the earlier watches, not the line’s current status.
Which Rolex watches were reported discontinued around Watches & Wonders 2024?
Rolex’s official 2024 announcement is dated April 9, 2024, but it introduces new watches rather than publishing a discontinuation list. The following withdrawals were reported by We Love Watches on April 15, 2024; they should be understood as secondary reporting, not an official Rolex retrospective bulletin.

Reference and material details for the four Yacht-Master II watches are corroborated by a WatchGuys guide. The timing is not uniform: the report distinguishes the white-gold 116689’s earlier removal from the steel and gold versions it says were no longer offered from April 9, 2024. It would be inaccurate to present all four references as having left the catalogue on the same date.
Which Yacht-Master II references were discontinued?
The four earlier-generation Yacht-Master II references associated with the reported withdrawals are 116680, 116681, 116688, and 116689. The first three are tied to the 2024 update; the 116689 is the exception, reportedly removed in 2022.

Ref. 116689: white gold
The white-gold ref. 116689 belongs in a historical list of prior Yacht-Master II references, but its reported catalogue removal dates to 2022 rather than the April 2024 update.
What changed when the Yacht-Master II returned?
Rolex’s current collection lists a redesigned Yacht-Master II as a new model. Rolex describes the watch as a regatta chronograph with a programmable countdown for a race’s starting sequence and says the collection launched in 2007. Its official announcement calls the new watch a “grand comeback.”
The redesign changes how the countdown is controlled. The earlier generation used a rotating bezel and Ring Command system; Rolex says the current version operates its countdown with two side pushers. The current model uses calibre 4162 and is offered in Oystersteel or 18 ct yellow gold. Those details apply to the new generation and should not be read as specifications for every withdrawn reference.
The Yacht-Master II is distinct from the Yacht-Master line, which Rolex also lists in its collection. A catalogue withdrawal for a Yacht-Master II reference does not mean the separate Yacht-Master collection was discontinued.

What does “discontinued” mean in this list?
Here, “discontinued” refers to reported catalogue removal for specific models or dial variants, with the timing stated in secondary coverage. It does not establish that every authorised dealer immediately ran out of stock, nor does catalogue removal by itself prove a change in resale value. Rolex’s official pages establish the announcement date and current redesigned model; the specific 2024 withdrawal list comes from We Love Watches, with the Yacht-Master II reference mapping also supported by WatchGuys.
