John Mayer’s Undefeated Tudor Black Bay was a custom, co-branded watch—not a standard Tudor retail release. Contemporary watch coverage described a 41mm Black Bay with a blue bezel, black dial and Undefeated branding. GQ Germany reported that 50 were made for selected friends and employees, but that figure is secondary reporting, not a quantity Tudor has publicly confirmed.
What Tudor did John Mayer get from Undefeated?
Watch publication Time+Tide identified the watch as a customized 41mm Tudor Black Bay. Its report describes a blue bezel, black dial and Undefeated logo on the dial; it also gives the watch’s thickness as 15mm. These are reported details of the custom piece, not specifications from an official Tudor product sheet. Time+Tide’s account is the contemporary source for the design description.

The watch paired the recognizable Black Bay dive-watch design with Undefeated, the streetwear brand. Mayer described the Undefeated team as friends and thanked the brand and Union Los Angeles’s Chris and creative team. Time+Tide characterized the watch as a gift and reported his reaction as “above and beyond on this one.” It also attributed this statement to his Instagram Story: “I’ve been a friend and fan of @undefeatedinc and @unionlosangeles for many years and @chrisunion and his creative team have always been creative, inspiring, and kind.”
How many Undefeated Tudor Black Bay watches were made?
GQ Germany reported in 2021 that 50 examples were made for selected Undefeated employees and friends. According to that report, each recipient’s name was engraved on the back. The number and distribution details come from secondary reporting; they should not be presented as figures officially confirmed by Tudor. GQ Germany’s 2021 report is the source for those claims.

Can you buy Mayer’s Undefeated Black Bay?
GQ Germany reported that the watch was not generally for sale and was distributed to selected recipients. No reliable current listing or verified resale valuation is established here, so there is no sound basis for quoting a present-day price or suggesting that the custom watch is available to buy.
Tudor’s official site shows that the Black Bay remains an active watch family, but its catalog models are separate from Mayer’s customization. The official Black Bay collection and the 39mm Black Bay 58 product page provide examples of standard models. The latter is a distinct 39mm model, not the 41mm Undefeated watch.

What to compare if you want a standard Black Bay
A catalog Black Bay may suit someone drawn to the general look, but it is not the same watch. Before choosing one, compare:
- Case dimensions: Mayer’s custom is reported as 41mm across and 15mm thick; check the official specifications for the particular catalog model you are considering.
- Bezel and dial: The reported custom pairs a blue bezel with a black dial. Do not assume a standard model reproduces that exact combination or the Undefeated branding.
- Bracelet or strap and movement: Confirm these details on the chosen model’s official product page; the reporting on Mayer’s custom does not establish its complete specification.
- Price and availability: Check Tudor’s official site or an authorized retailer for your market, since price and stock can vary by region.
- What you want from the watch: A standard catalog model offers a publicly specified product; the Undefeated piece’s appeal is its reported custom design and limited, recipient-based distribution.
Tudor’s public partnerships page lists its displayed partnerships, but does not list Undefeated. That visible listing does not establish whether a private or historic relationship existed. Tudor’s partnerships page is the current public reference.
