The King Seiko KSK SJE083 is a 2021 re-creation of Seiko’s 1965 King Seiko KSK, released as a 3,000-piece limited edition. It pairs the original’s angular, faceted design with Seiko’s automatic 6L35 movement. Its key listed dimensions are 38.1 mm across, 11.4 mm thick and 44.7 mm lug-to-lug, with 20 mm between the lugs.
What is the King Seiko KSK SJE083?
The SJE083 is a modern re-creation of the second King Seiko series, known as the KSK, which Seiko first introduced in 1965. Seiko announced the watch as part of its 140th-anniversary program, with release planned for January 2021. The launch announcement describes the original KSK’s sharp, angular case, flat surfaces and multifaceted corners.
The re-creation carries over the flat dial, faceted hour markers, broad hands, angular lugs and emblem on the case back. Seiko says the lugs receive Zaratsu polishing for a distortion-free mirror finish; that is the manufacturer’s description of its finishing, not an independent assessment.
Is the SJE083 a limited edition?
Yes. Seiko announced a worldwide edition of 3,000 pieces, planned for availability from January 2021 at Seiko boutiques and selected retail partners. The screw case back is engraved with “LIMITED EDITION” and an individual serial number.

The launch announcement gave an approximate European recommended retail price of €3,400. That is a historical launch-era figure, not a current recommended price or a guide to resale value. Regional launch prices differed: Seiko’s Thai-language announcement listed 118,500 baht and said 25 pieces were allocated to Thailand.

The movement, case, crystal, dimensions, band, water resistance and weight are listed on Seiko’s SJE083J1 product page. Seiko’s launch announcement also says the re-creation’s case is 0.5 mm thicker than the original KSK; this comparison applies to those two watches, not to King Seiko models generally.

What strap fits the SJE083?
Seiko lists a 20 mm distance between the lugs and supplies the watch with a crocodile leather band. That measurement is a useful starting point when looking for a replacement strap, but width alone does not establish fit: check the strap’s end shape and thickness, as well as compatibility with the watch’s spring bars and any clasp you intend to use.

Before buying, confirm the reference is SJE083J1, inspect the serial-numbered case back, and assess the watch’s condition and provenance.
