Latest Galaxy Watch6 Classic 47mm update at a glance
| Detail | Samsung’s SM-R960 listing |
|---|---|
| Model | Galaxy Watch6 Classic 47 mm Bluetooth (SM-R960), identified by Samsung Service Germany |
| Build | R960XXS2CZF5 |
| Android version field | B(AndroidWear 6.0) |
| Release date | July 6, 2026 |
| Security patch level | July 5, 2026 |
| Published change | Improved security |
These details come from Samsung’s SM-R960 update log. The release date is the date Samsung lists for the update; the security patch level is a separate date associated with the build.
What the July 2026 firmware changes
Samsung’s release notice says: “The device is protected with improved security.” It does not describe a new feature or a broader feature upgrade. The update log’s earlier One UI 8 Watch entry from November 2025 describes the Now bar and double-pinch controls; those are prior upgrade notes, not changes attributed to R960XXS2CZF5.
Does this build apply to every 47 mm Galaxy Watch6 Classic?
No. Samsung’s full build listing is for the Bluetooth model SM-R960. It does not establish that the same full build is available for the 47 mm LTE model SM-R965. Samsung warns that update details can vary by model, country, and service provider.

- Rotating Bezel Design: Classic rotating bezel enables precise control and smooth navigation.
Samsung Japan’s Galaxy Watch latest-version tracker, last updated August 24, 2026, independently lists suffix ZF5 and the July 6, 2026 update date for SM-R960. That corroborates the suffix and date, but not a complete SM-R965 build. A suffix such as ZF5 is not a substitute for the full firmware number.
How to check the model and installed firmware
- Check the watch’s model number in its device information. Confirm whether it is SM-R960 (Bluetooth) or another variant.
- On the watch, open Settings > About watch > Software information to review the installed software and build details.
- To check for an available update, open Settings > Software update > Download and install. Menu wording can vary with software version and region.
- Compare the full version shown on your watch with Samsung’s update log for your model and country. If your watch is not SM-R960, do not assume R960XXS2CZF5 is its applicable build.
Samsung’s log records an earlier SM-R960 build, R960XXS2CZE1, released June 22, 2026 with a May 5, 2026 security patch level, before the July ZF5 listing. Rollout timing may differ by country and service provider, so a watch may not show an update at the same time as the published log.
