Laurent Ferrier announced the Classic Traveller Meteorite in July 2022 as a 15-piece edition exclusive to the North American continent. Its defining feature is a deep metallic-blue dial cut from Muonionalusta meteorite; the watch pairs that distinctive surface with a practical dual-time display in a 41 mm Grade 5 titanium case. The manufacturer’s announcement describes the edition as North American-exclusive, while Monochrome Watches called it US-exclusive.
What makes the Classic Traveller Meteorite different?
The dial is cut from Muonionalusta, an iron meteorite. Laurent Ferrier says the meteorite fell in northern Scandinavia, west of the Sweden-Finland border, around 1 million years BCE. The fragment is galvanically treated, changing its original anthracite color to deep metallic blue. Because each dial comes from a different fragment, its natural pattern varies from watch to watch.
White raised silkscreen printing, Roman-style hour markers, a small-seconds track at six o’clock, and white-coated 18K white-gold hands provide contrast. The meteorite material—not a printed imitation of it—is the centerpiece of this limited edition.
How does its dual-time display work?
The central hour hand shows local time. Two push-pieces on the left side of the case move that hand forward or backward in one-hour steps without moving the minute hand. The date at three o’clock follows local time and changes as it passes midnight.

- MODERN SQUARE CASE — Bold square case in gold and silver tone finishes delivers a classic sophisticated dress watch look for any occasion

- WATER RESISTANT QUARTZ — Reliable 3ATM water resistant quartz movement built for accurate everyday and active lifestyle wear

An aperture at nine o’clock displays home, or reference, time on a 24-hour scale, making it possible to distinguish day from night at home. This is a traveller-style dual-time watch, not a world-time display.

There is a published power-reserve discrepancy: Laurent Ferrier specifies 72 hours, and Monochrome’s article text also gives 72 hours, but its technical summary lists 80 hours. The manufacturer’s figure is the appropriate specification to use here.
