Monochrome’s 2013 review reported a 44 × 46 × 15 mm case, a 75-piece edition and a notably low 33 g weight. Its appeal is its unusual construction and distinctive technical look; the trade-offs noted in that review include limited low-light legibility and a crown that is difficult to grip.
What makes the SpidoLite II Tech Green distinctive?
Introduced at Baselworld in 2013 as one of Linde Werdelin’s Tech models, the SpidoLite II Tech Green is built around an open, skeletonized outer case rather than a conventional solid-sided sports-watch case. Monochrome described that outer structure as forged carbon, surrounding an inner movement container made from Alloy Linde Werdelin (ALW). The contrast between the layered case architecture, dark materials and green stitching gives the watch its particular character. It reads as an intentionally technical, sporty design rather than a restrained everyday watch. The cutaway construction is also central to its identity: the case is not just a shell around the movement but a visible part of the design.

How does the case wear?
The published dimensions are broad and thick on paper, but Frank Geelen of Monochrome described the watch as exceptionally light and comfortable. He said the case shape and strap connection helped it sit securely despite its size. Those are review-period impressions, not a guarantee of fit for every wrist.

The 33 g figure deserves particular caution: it is the detailed model-specific weight reported in 2013, while a 2015 video description states 82 g. Neither source explains its measurement basis, and no primary specification sheet was available to settle the difference. Treat the watch as designed to feel unusually light, but do not rely on a precise weight without independent verification.
Movement and day-to-day use
Monochrome identifies the movement as the automatic LW04, with a 42-hour reserve and a frequency of 4 Hz, or 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement can be seen through the caseback. Geelen’s review also points to two practical compromises. He found the crown difficult to grip, and observed minimal lume and poor readability in low light on the prototype he reviewed. These are specific reviewer observations rather than a comprehensive test or a claim about every example. Fratello’s earlier 2011 review of the SpidoLite II family also mentions difficulty screwing down the crown, but that predates the Tech Green and should be treated as family context, not proof of this model’s current condition or functionality. Who is this watch for?
The Tech Green makes the most sense for someone drawn to conspicuous case engineering, carbon construction and a scarce design. Its green details, layered silhouette and visible technical character distinguish it from more conventional luxury sports watches. The 75-piece count is the reported edition size, not evidence of present-day availability or market value.

It is a less obvious choice if easy low-light reading, straightforward crown operation or a modest case profile are priorities. The review-period notes on lume and crown grip are worth checking in person if possible, particularly because an older, limited-production watch may vary in condition.
