Both have a 39 mm case, green dial details, a hand-finished silver-plated brass dial and the manual-winding calibre 102.1. Each version is limited to 12 pieces; the manufacturer gives 29 April 2026 as the release date. The name also belongs to an earlier TEFNUT introduced in 2023, so its original case and dial colors should not be confused with these anniversary editions.
What is new about the 2026 TEFNUT?
Moritz Grossmann presents the watches as the third special edition for the 200th anniversary of the birth of its namesake, born on 27 March 1826. The company says the versions debut on 29 April 2026, and describes the yellow-gold case as a first for the TEFNUT model. Each reference is limited to 12 pieces.

The manufacturer says both use the same green-accented silver-plated dial and movement. The anniversary design also includes a vintage “M. GROSSMANN” logo associated by the maker with a 1875 design and an “1826” engraving on the balance cock. These are the company’s historical references, not independent authentication of the watches’ provenance.
What does “silver-plated by friction” mean?
It describes a hand-worked surface treatment rather than simply a flat, silver-colored dial. Moritz Grossmann says the dial begins as engraved brass with green details. A paste made from silver powder, salt, cream of tartar and water is rubbed over it with a small brush, building a fine-grained texture; the surface is then polished. The maker characterizes the finish as matte and velvety, with light and shadow playing across the grain.

This process is also the defining feature of the earlier TEFNUT Silver-Plated by Friction. The 2023 model was described in rose gold or stainless steel, with black dial markings and brown-violet hands. Those details belong to the earlier offering; the 2026 anniversary watches instead pair yellow or white gold with green dial markings.
Case, dial and wear-related specifications
- Case: 39 mm in diameter and 8.5 mm high, in yellow or white gold depending on reference.
- Dial: engraved brass, hand silver-plated by friction and set with green details.
- Crystal and back: sapphire crystal; display back with anti-reflective coating on one side.
- Strap and fastening: hand-stitched alligator strap with a precious-metal prong buckle; a precious-metal butterfly clasp is listed as an option.
The published specifications establish the dimensions and materials, but do not provide an independent wearing assessment or performance test.

Calibre 102.1: movement and functions
Both anniversary references use the hand-wound calibre 102.1, which displays hours and minutes. Moritz Grossmann lists 188 parts, 22 jewels (including three in screwed gold chatons), adjustment in five positions and a 48-hour power reserve. The movement has a lever escapement, a 10 mm balance and a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour.
The manufacturer describes its construction as a pillar movement with a main plate and a three-fifths plate. Other named features include a stepped balance cock, Grossmann micrometer screw and raised chatons. The boutique’s feature list adds a separately removable clutch winding mechanism, ARCAP train wheels and a proprietary escapement with an 18-tooth escape wheel. The movement measures 26 mm across and 3.5 mm high, according to the detailed specification table.

Price and how to check availability
The official Grossmann Uhren GmbH boutique listed the TEFNUT at €52,500 including VAT when checked on 8 October 2026. That is a dated manufacturer-boutique listing, not a guarantee of current stock or a market-wide price; price, delivery and availability can change. The boutique showed selectable versions, strap color and clasp. The manufacturer’s model page links to its online boutique and a retailer finder, which are the direct routes to confirm current configuration and availability.

The friction-silvering concept links the releases, but the anniversary watches are distinct executions rather than the original model with only a new case color.
