The Longines Legend Diver Bronze, reference L3.774.1.50.2, is a 42 mm automatic watch with a bronze case, green dial and leather strap. Its defining layout pairs two crowns with an internal rotating diving bezel; the bronze case and clasp are designed to change color as they age. “Timeless” is a matter of taste, but the model’s distinctive design draws on Longines’ historical Legend Diver.
What the bronze Legend Diver is
This is a specific 42 mm model, not a description of every watch in the Legend Diver range. Longines lists the L3.774.1.50.2 with a green dial and leather strap, plus a green NATO-type nylon second strap and a strap-changing tool. Its case and clasp are bronze, while the case back is titanium. Longines’ US product page lists the model at $3,550 in the United States as accessed in 2026; price and availability can change.

How the two-crown bezel works
The Legend Diver’s signature arrangement uses one crown for the watch and another to operate the internal rotating diving flange. Longines says placing the bezel inside the case helps protect it from accidental manipulation and shocks that might change its setting. That is the manufacturer’s design rationale, not a comparative test result. The layout gives the watch its recognizable profile while keeping the timing bezel beneath the crystal.

Bronze aging and the titanium back
Longines says the bronze case and clasp evolve over time and can change color, making each piece unique. That describes the expected behavior of the material; it is not a report of firsthand aging or a guarantee of a particular patina. The titanium case back is a separate material choice from the bronze exterior.

Longines’ official product copy describes the Legend Diver as “a reinterpretation of a 1960s diver watch.” In a 2024 press release, the company says it developed what would become the Legend Diver in 1959 as a watch for underwater exploration, rated to 12 bar (120 m). These statements refer to the design’s history, not the launch date of the modern bronze reference. The original’s 12-bar rating also should not be confused with the current bronze model’s 30-bar specification.

The size offers one clear point of comparison within the modern line: Longines’ 2023 media page describes a 39 mm Legend Diver as faithful to the original 1959 model, whereas this bronze reference measures 42 mm. That comparison does not establish that the two versions share all other specifications.
